Out of curiosity, what is so terrible about being a male nurse?

From what I understand, their starting salary is much more competitive than that of UTSA engineering grads.

Theres nothing wrong with the salary. Its simply a feminine job tbh. Not what you expect from a pompous wanna-be tough guy with tats, muscles, fast cars, and pitbulls. :lol

There's nothing feminine about medicine. You have a old world view of the profession. Do you think nurses wear those little white hats and hand out cups of cough syrup? Ever seen a flight nurse or ER nurse do their jobs? It's hardly feminine. Hands down in gaping wounds isn't something I consider feminine.

i knew a male nurse who was going back to school for finance because he hated working in nursing. still think he's an idiot walking away from 28 an hour with plenty of overtime just to go back to school and work some shitty retail job in the meanwhile. smart indian guy though. there are a ton of male nurses these days.

It's funny how a guy will think a programming job is more masculine than saving lives and dealing with trauma.

I'm going to be a male nurse too, tbh, in about a year:lol I'm using it to eventually propel my way into NP or PA, but the pay is great regardless. I make good money as a flight medic, but regular 9-1-1 ground medics make shit and it's a tragedy.

TBH, if sucking dicks paid 100k a year, I would do it - who caress about a job being feminine/shitty as long as the pay is good?

Pretty sure good escorts do make well over 100k per year tbh...lol dude that's just wrong

They do, but have a lot of overhead (no pun) if outside of NV

there were no jobs at all considered feminine back in the time when most good women were housewives and the only "working" women were prostitutes, the dickless fucks just hijacked alot of jobs which belonged to men in recent decades and that's the culprit for the high unemployment rate these days imho. bitches should've never been allowed to go to school and get educated tbh

males are also minority in some other professions like teaching but i don't think being a male teacher is that laughable to you as being a male nurse

You're sucking them now for free, so any money you can scrape up might keep the rest of us from hearing your pleas on the corners.

If you want a respectable career where you won't be laid off and where you can work in any state in the US, any town, medicine is the ticket.

Dude tells me there's at least two codes a day when he works.

What percentage of nurses are female ?

Exactly. Hed be better off saying he doesnt give a fuck if its feminine and simply pulling the salary card, instead of trying to uphold his tough guy persona by defending male nurses and calling them 'some of the biggest fucking pimps on the planet'. DD is a good example, itd be hard for someone to give him shit about his career choice since he doesnt have a tough guy persona to uphold.

I have a question. I'm not particularly familiar with the different public colleges and universities in the States (save for Universities in California), but what exactly is it about UTSA that have a lot of people in this board jizz on you?

i don't think gender should become a barrier for certain professions for example we have female couples cuz our society needs them time in and time out, and you never sneer at them because they're doing a mannish job, so why go harsh against them male nurses bro?

who's a male nurse

I am. Im an ER and Psych RN .. for a couple of years now

Advantages
1. Working with hot chicks all the time (how i met my current gf)
2. Paywise is great plus unlimited overtime i wanted
3. Benefits - I get 4 and 1/2 vacation weeks a year
4. Work '7' 12-hour shifts every 2 weeks get the other 7 days off
5. It works out i get Fri-Mon off once every 5 weeks. :p:

Disadvantages
1. Have to work one weekend a month
2. Sometimes 12 hours is too much if the unit is hectic
3. Alot of paperwork (charting) and have to deal with asshole doctors. :ihit

My father's been a psych nurse for almost 25 years. Mom's is an RN as well but works for the government.

You tend to see more male nurses there (psych hospitals), probably 30%+ . I'm guessing this is probably to restrain the crazies :lol
