Dead serious. Especially since the line is bound to move with all the betting for N.O. anyways. Some bookies (mine, for one) won't take bets till an hour before the game--and most won't take any until gameday period (futures and props, excluded). There's no way in hell I'm getting NO -2.5. I'll honestly be lucky to get an even 3 when i call up. dets why I mean it when I ask if somebody's bookie will take my action if they have that line.

It won't move beyond 3.5, but even a half-point is massive in betting, let alone a full point.
He jews me all the time with half-points when I bet basketball too. I tell him the paper has the line different and he just says: "Call the paper then and see if they'll take your action.":lol

Let's drop the internet silliness and talk seriously.
There is no team in the NFL the last decade as weak as the Rams are in their first road game of the year. They haven't won one of those in over 10 years. They also suck in the first game of the year 2-8 in the last 10 years.
Now think, they intercepted three passes one for a score and...STILL!!!!!!...couldn't win the game. I was on the right side it was a perfect "spot" the play some big $$$$$$$$. Anyone into this stuff played that play, you had to it was that strong.
This week we have a play where one team has always covered vs the opposition, yep...100%. That would be the Chargers vs Titans.
I realize you ..."must"...play what you do, I know it's fun. But don't ever think I don't spend a lot of time on these picks and are serious about winning. I will win about 70% of these plays this year, I always do. I was one INT from going 4-2 last week. Come on man you know as well as I do that's pretty impressive and shows I'm not some bullshitter.
Sure come on back with some more internet silliness, you have to play that others are watching.

I insulted DD? Didn't he say he told me...take the points and the Bears.... hoping I'd lose?...yet you see me insulting him:rolleyes
You look for "spots" with an overwelming amount of info/data favoring one side. That's all a handicapper can do. The Lions had every advantage in the book. How do you not play a "spot" that strong? No way in hell a QB on the level of a Matthew Stafford is going to toss three INT's in a game. That's what it took for me to lose that strong play.
I usually play along with the silliness but really not in the mood for that aspect of this tonight, ok? How about we talk like a couple grown men for a change, ok?

I pay no attention at all to anyone elses plays here or anywhere. Nobody puts in the work I do and I know that. All my plays are the best plays that week based on recent histories/trends and stats and injury info. It's all about "spots". It takes work/time to uncover those plays.

meh, hindsight is 20/20 and trashtalk does little-to-nothing to affect a spread.
GB scored their first 3 points b/c of a terrible 12-man on the field challenge that should not have been called. Brandon Marshall let's a TD pass slip through his fingers. Those things don't happen and the Bears lose 20-17 and I cover. They did happen, however, and had nothing to do with trashtalk.

You can take a play or two from every game and turn the result around.
It was a bad bet. Green bay was coming off a home loss and was fired up playing the Bears on a short week, and Cutler was adding to the defensive effort with the trash talk.

Yeah, that's the point. It was 2 non-trash-talk-influencing calls/plays that swung the game. If you want to go further, the miracle fake fg is another.
You act as if they got pummeled 45-0 and were obliterated on both sides of the ball. They beat the shit out of the best QB in football all night and held him to 14 (legit) points. Win some, lose some.

4 int and 7 sacks, the defense was fired up for Green Bay . Chicago still has offensive line problems that Green Bay exposed. Trash talking did not help Chicago in this game.

I don't bet on any teams. I learned a long time ago you will lose in the long run. You may win for a short while but the odds are stacked against you with the vigorish payouts, so the smart money is not to bet. I play fantasy sports, that is less expensive than betting on weekly games, which is not smart. I couldn't afford to bet on weekly games if I wanted to.
Giants are a good solid play. There is a chance they don't cover the line, greater than the green bay game, but still a solid bet. I picked the 4 games I liked the most.

Chicago was embarrashed, now they are at home vs a Ram team that hasn't won back to back games in a long time.

The Cowboys back at home coming of a loss vs a Buc's team that is very week on the road.
Chicago was embarrashed, now they are at home vs a Ram team that hasn't won back to back games in a long time.
The Steelers vs a totally inept Raider team.
Baltimore at home vs a Pat team with some problems.
Do you look at things like that?
This week I looked at teams getting way too much respect from a week 1 win/performance.
Minnesota beating Jacksonville didn't stop me from thinking they still suck and would get beat by Indy.
Blaine Gabbert having a respectable game against Minnesota didn't stop me from thinking Houston would destroy him.
The Jets beating Buffalo didn't make me forget how bad they looked throughout the preseason.
Philly being favored against Baltimore was a no brainer one because at the very least Baltimore was keeping it close.
The Arizona New England game was a fuckup on my part because of how well I know both teams and it shouldn't have been my pick. The Cardinals' D making it a close game shoulda been something I foresaw.

Nobody say that Arizona beating the Pats coming.
Do have access to historical trends? I played $$$$$$San Diego minus the points vs the Titans. The Chargers have never failed to cover vs the Titans. Easy $$$$$$.

No, I just go by hunches tbh. I never bet money or I'd look at it more closely.
Picking the Chargers always scares me because they're such an inconsistent team. One week they're the best team in the NFL and then the next week Norv Turner reminds everyone why people hate him.

I put a lot into home/road. Forget what a teams record is, look at what it is at home/road. The Cowboys are 8-2. But it's...home 6-0 road 2-2. So on the road they are just a 500 team.
I hear ya about the Chargers and Norv Turner. I just couldn't ignore 7-0 vs the Titans vs the spread.

Well, you figured the Titans can't get anything worthwhile out of CJ and the fact they were honoring Junior Seau and while the second one isn't all that effective versus the spread, it can be a motivating factor especially with a mercurial team like the Chargers.

The moneyline on the Pats game is -900:lol Basically, if you wanna bet New England straight-up you have to lay $900 to win $100.
I would have played the Pats and lost the $900. I thought that was a good bet for the Pats to cover, an easy $100. This is why I don't bet.

You might do well but it won't be down by simply guessing.
Chargers had never lost a point spread play to the Titans.
The Niners were 4-0 in their last 4 vs Detroit.
You can't win without knowing that sort of thing.
When was the last time SD played Tenn? You can't take games played years ago with different rosters and use those as some sort of predictor of an outcome for current teams.
