1. Kobe
2. Duncan
3. Shaq
4. Lebron
5. Nowitzki
6. Garnett
7. Wade
8. Nash
9. Iverson
10. Pierce

Gotta say they did a good job. Got the number 1 right. Only wrong choice they made was putting Duncan ahead of Shaq.

4.) Iverson
5.) Lebron

Don't forget the refs cheated AI...imagine what A.I would have done if the refs had not conspired against him.

Donaghy on Iverson:

He [Iverson] had threatened one of the officials and the NBA fined him $25,000. We felt he should have been suspended. We [NBA officials] felt as a group that he should have been suspended. Because he wasn't, we felt like we would teach him a lesson.

In one game where he bet on San Antonio, he ejected coach Gregg Popovich midway through the first quarter and the Spurs eventually lost the game. That drew the ire of the mob, which reportedly lost money using his tip.

kobe fanboy is everywhere, one would have to be an idiot to not see that. kool is proof of that living in houston. we're talking about lakers nation as a whole here, not literally the city of LA.

kobe has a lot of fans because he's inspirational to every street baller who wants to ball hog and shoot fancy fadeaways like him. his game is about flash and shooting tough shots, it's entertaining to watch although not really good basketball. kobe is like a globetrotters type attraction.

Not a bad list. Kobe has 5 rings, an MVP, a couple scoring titles, the 81-pt game, and most likely the most jersey sales since 2000. He also has the adoration of international fans whilst playing on the 2nd most recognizable sports franchise (Yankees first) in history.

Men want to be him and women want to be with him. He is probably the closest thing there is to a "God."

Good list, this will cause massive anal hemorrhaging among the haters:tu

Kobe without shaq - 2
Shaq without Kobe - 1

If Kobe and shaq are both in the top 3 and were on the same team, how does the guy that did without either of them on his team not get ranked #1.

Whats better?

A. Four rings, 2 MVPs, 3 FMVPs in a quiet, classy, city most young rich black males steer away from. A market David Stern hates and where championships will be scarce.

or

B. Five rings, 1 MVP, 2 FMVPs in a place most marquee players flock to. A market David Stern adores and where championships will remain abundant.

Ryan Fitzpatrick
09-20-2012, 01:44 PM
Are they both superstars? Yes. Then who won more rings?

That answers your question.

Also, Tim Duncan was bland and unmarketable to the average joe--meaning he was incapable of helping the game grow to a wider audience...in fact it was quite the opposite when his team went to the Finals.

Kobe won, and made it look good.

It's hard to win a championship in any sport. If that weren't the case then the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins wouldn't be embarrassments to the NFL the last 15 or so years. In the NBA, the Knicks are the top market yet they've been a sad pile of fuck forever.

Kobe could've been a lazy, one-way loser like Vince Carter--just spending half the game chucking 3's and playing no defense whatsoever. Instead, he dedicated himself and became the most feared scorer of his generation, and a top defender to boot. That has nothing to do with location.

Football is alot different tbh.

Kobe deserves his props for all of that, Id atleast put him Top 3. Probably 2nd because Shaq was really only dominant for half of the decade. No way is his body of work better than Timmys though . It isnt as simple as 5>4 yet thats what most people base their opinion off of.

It is, but has there ever been an athlete given an easier path than Bryant? That's why Duncan's 4 are more impressive than Bryant's 5.

This is how dumb most people are: Up until '08, the consensus was that Bryant wasn't even in Duncan's league historically. Then Bryant get's handed a men against boys front line, wins 2 more and suddenly he's greater?

He's the most overrated defender in the history of the game. But I'm sure they'll hand him another 1st team All-Defense next season and continue brain washing the ignorant masses.

Nowitzki ahead of Garnett and Wade is just as ridiculous. Especially Garnett, because the same logic applies. Up until the past few years, the consensus was that Nowitzki wasn't in Garnett's league historically, then he wins 1 as the undisputed best player on his team and now all of a sudden he's greater?

This must be what credibility looks like (posted when Spurs were up 2-0):

I could have told you this going in. I've long said that Brooks has no idea what he's doing and is in over his head. There's not much separating him from Del Nego, but he doesn't receive a tenth of the scrutiny Del Negro does. That's because he just so happened to inherit a team that was going to progress to the level they're now at on a similar timetable, whether he was coaching them or someone else was. It's the getting them to the next level that actual coaching is required for. He's incapable of this and that's why he needs to be fired. I think Presti realizes this too, which is why he's (curiously) yet to extend him. He probably wants to fire him, but knows he has no cliche reason he can sell to the media and his own team. If they get swept in this series, that could give him the impetus.

At this time of the year you can't worry about that. Especially with how rested this team is and how much more rested they can become by wrapping this up in five or less. As you alluded to, a team this good (even if they are overrated, as I've long maintained), you don't give any life to. If the opportunity is there to take this game and effectively end the series, you spare damn near no expense.

Do you have any evidence to support what you said? Looks to me like you're basing it off of the fact that more people sided with timvp. Of course they did. He's their god and on top of that, their favorite team was being ripped to shreds and a magical season was slipping away. What I said was never going to win a popularity contest, but that doesn't mean it was wrong.

For an organization that's won four championships in a nine season span, they've sure embarrassed themselves plenty of times. And they're in the midst of doing it again.

They've got a team of mostly playoff neophytes that tanks to play them and this is how they respond? Instead of taking it personally and sending a message immediately, they let their confidence, already sky high, go through the roof and confirm that, yes, this team can beat them. They also confirmed to the rest of the league, who disrespected, flat out ignored them or both the entire season that, yes, they are in fact a joke. Not that they were going to be motivated by that, but you'd think they'd want to stick it to all these ass holes. Apparently not.

Not a fucking chance in hell the Lakers or Celtics allow that. Point to the Grizzlies girth in the paint or the fact that the Spurs of the past three seasons have not been in the same class as the Lakers or Celtics all you want. The point is this: They're the two other teams in the league with championship pedigree. They'd have taken pride in knocking an upstart team like this down a peg. They'd have came in, quieted the crowd and re-established control of the series.

What's worse than the fact that this team did none of those things is that they look like the terrified team. All this experience and yet they come out and it's as if they're intimidated by the atmosphere. Inexcusable.

The reality is that, Kobe is a marketing tool. Anyone with a brain would know the business aspect of the NBA is what made kobe bryant today, an overated chucker that shots 43% from the field ; a glorified paul piecre nothing more. Give me one championiship that kobe has won which he was clearly the number 1 option in all the series he played You Wont find one, you just cant.

And I am fairly positve that most kobe fans, and i say kobe fans have zero understading of basketball. In all my life wacthing sports basketball, Soccer, Football etc. I have never seen someone so glorified by the media. there are only two Reason Why some people regard him above duncan and shaq

1. because they have no fcking clue on what they are talking as is the case with a retarded kobe fan
2. They are in for a quick buck as is the case with the nba.

Sadly, the world is is full of idiots who eat whatver the media feeds them.

Duncan has been better than Kobe. We're talking about both sides of the court, wins, talent level (or lackthereof) surrounding them during winning or championship seasons, etc.

Duncan's performed better than Kobe, and managed 4 titles with far less talent than Kobe. Not to mention Duncan has at least been the best player on his team for all 4 of his titles, whereas Kobe was arguably only the best player on his team for one or two of them (last 2).

Kobe's being put on a pedestal for PPG and for playing in LA. Fuck that noise. Not to mention he's only ranked above Shaq because the "list" starts as soon as Kobe's career starts shining, and negates 2 solid Duncan years and 7 dominant Shaq years. If they just did it "post-Jordan", there's no way in fuck Kobe's ahead of Duncan on any logical list. 5 isn't greater than 4 when you're 2nd fiddle for 3 of those 5. It's 2 and 3 halves vs 4. Though Duncan should probably get more than just "1" in credit for that 2003 title too, where he carried one of the least talented teams to a title. Best 3 players other than Duncan on team were either A: about to retire after that season, or B: had 1 and 2 years respectively of NBA experience as 28th and 57th picks in the draft. In other words, every team in the league passed on one of them, and every team in the league passed on the other one twice. Duncan still thugged himself a title.

Kobe's toughest road to title: Oh wait, when did he not have shit tons of help from players equal to or better than him to any of his titles? Is he even the 3rd best player on the team right now? Seriously? Howard > Kobe easily. Nash >/= Kobe. Gasol maybe slightly worse than Kobe at the peak of arguing between the two in favor of Kobe.

kobe fanboy thinks it's blasphemous to not rank the overrated, inefficient chucker number one on every list. he just cannot fathom how nobody else worships their idol outside of LA.

Weak attempt. Everyone knows the lottery is a crap shoot. Jerry West is considered one of the best evaluators of talent and he swung and missed on many draft picks.

Since 2010, he protected American diplomatic personnel in dangerous posts from Central America to the Middle East. He had the hands of a healer as well as the arm of a warrior, earning distinction as a registered nurse and certified paramedic"

Go tell the SEALs that being a registered nurse is feminine.

Seriously, there's nothing feminine or masculine about most jobs. I know female engineers and I know male nurses.
