All of that crap going in the Middle East right now is because of blowback. America needs to wake up. People need to stop with this fantasy land talk of "they try to kill us because of our freedom or because we're free". That's crap. They hate us because we go over there and start shit with them.

Follow the Golden Rule and this crap doesn't happen.

"we go over there"

... for the oil and for the oilcos, not to spread the mythical American dream of democracy and freedom. USA doesn't care how nasty the govt nor how oppressed the people, as long as the addicted USA druggie gets its oil.

btw, carbon-industries are outspending the green industries by many times this election.

eg, Gecko wants to kill all incentives for solar and wind energy, while not touching a penny of incentives for coal, oil, gas. He's well paid for that position.

Hoist the Flag, Praise the Lord, Pass the Ammo: US Foreign Policy

The Saturday headline in the Wall Street Journal was: “Anti-U.S. Mobs on Rampage.”

The next day, a NATO airstrike killed eight women collecting firewood in the mountains of eastern Afghanistan, an event that garnered virtually zero mainstream U.S. headlines.

Somewhere in the gap between these two phenomena — the overheated news about our violent, irrational enemies in the Middle East and the silence surrounding our war and occupation of the region — lies American politics, values, the presidential race, the national identity. Beyond that gap lies the truth about who we are, and only when we have access to it does the future turn into creative possibility and peace become possible.

America violates it allies.

In fact, America will violate any country.

Italy: CIA Guilty of Kidnapping

Earlier this week, Italy's highest court upheld the conviction of 23 Americans in absentia for the abduction of an Egyptian cleric.

In a chilly morning in February 2003 as he was walking to his mosque, Hassan Mustafa Osama Nasr was whisked off the Via Guerzoni in Milan, tossed into the back of a van and driven to a NATO air base in Aviano, Italy. From there, Abu Omar, as he's commonly known, was flown by Learjet to Germany and then to Cairo where he was allegedly tortured for seven months, according to Amnesty International, which has an open case file on his kidnapping.

Three years ago an Italian court convicted 23 Americans - 22 CIA employees and an Air Force colonel - in absentia for the abduction and gave them prison sentences of five to nine years. Two Italian secret service officials were also convicted for failing to alert the proper authorities that the kidnapping was about to take place (the Italians' convictions were later overturned).

Earlier this week, Italy's highest court upheld the Americans' convictions and ordered a retrial for the Italian agents. They also ordered each of the 23 Americans to pay Abu Omar €1 million and each pay his wife €500,000. Yet because the Italian government has never asked for the Americans to be extradited, it is unlikely that Abu Omar and his wife will ever receive financial compensation from the United States government.

And dom't give me that shit that they can't deliver them.

Imagine if they put them in shipping containers and detonated them in the ports of New York, Los Angeles, and the Houston Ship Channel.

Homeland security closes down all imports. Gas goes to $20+ overnight and Walmart etc is empty in two weeks.

The absolutist, irrationally, anti-Muslim rhetoric in here is -- as usual -- off-base, but if AQ or any of the similarly fundamentalist extremist groups got a nuke, you can be certain they would use it (and I don't think they'd be stupid enough to bomb Israel and risk contaminating their holy sites or the contiguous Muslim countries... which leaves the US, whose economy and defense feeds Israel's).

I guess that makes former CIA counterterrorism expert Michael Scheuer a retard as well, because he's been saying the same things for years, tbh....

Also, another counterterrorism expert, Robert Pape, did some research a while back and found out that suicide terrorism is actually statistically uncommon in Muslim countries unless another country goes to war with them....

Pakistan's nuclear arsenal is in US control, AFAIK. The only reason them and India haven't blown themselves to pieces yet.

The whole 'shipping containers' fiction would probably make a good episode of 24, though. Surprised Tom Clancy hasn't written a book about that yet.

Highly radioactive material is tightly controlled and fairly simple to detect. That's why rockets and bombs are the preferred method of delivery (quick).
Haven't read about Pakis rocket tech for a while now, but I'll be surprised if they can even reach Israel.

If there was a revolution in Pakistan do you really think that every country in the world would have troops in there immediately to secure those warheads?

CC, you act like there has not been military intervention in the other AS countries. India, China, Russia, NATO etc would immediately all have specific national security interests.

The fear would be that a small number would be compromised. Now every weapon in the arsenal. Quit being a drama queen.

Pakistan Drone Study Finds 'Damaging And Counterproductive' Consequences From U.S. Policy

A new study conducted by law professors at Stanford and New York University contends that the U.S. use of drones to target suspected militants in Pakistan has had a "damaging and counterproductive effect" on the country and has killed far more civilians than previously acknowledged.

The study, which was released on Tuesday, relies on some 130 interviews with civilians living in the regions of northern Pakistan where targeted drone strikes have been most frequent. Working with the activist group Reprieve, the team of professors have added to the growing body of literature that argues, contrary to Obama administration claims, that numerous civilians have been killed, and many more traumatized, by the drone strike program.

"Drones hover 24 hours a day over communities in northwest Pakistan, striking homes, vehicles and public spaces without warning," the report said. "Those living under drones have to face the constant worry that a deadly strike may be fired at any moment, and the knowledge that they are powerless to protect themselves."

Relying on data compiled by the Bureau of Investigative Journalism, the study's authors say that between 2,562 and 3,325 people have been killed in Pakistan since June 2004, and between 474 and 881 of them were civilians.

Imagine how pissed off NRA bubbas would be if MX was killing US civilians with drones trying to get drug lords.

You post all this shit and then conveniently neglect to mention the Democrat-controlled administration that is carrying them out in the same fashion as the previous administration.

Then you make some off-hand reference about "bubbas" that has nothing to do with what you posted.

How do you explain this? Why don't you go after the Democrats as well?
