So Mono, you really don't think there is anything wrong with what Bill did and that nothing should happen to him :lmao?

Damn, that is even worse than I thought. Bill could have shattered that bone in his arm if that punch were just an inch to the left. Scary stuff.

He should be fined. No suspension. And honestly after a play like that, he deserves an explanation from the refs. For them to sprint off the field and not be held accountable is worse than Bill grabbing one by the arm. And unlike certain Redskins fans with a grudge, i'd have the same opinion if roles were reversed and Harbaugh was out there demanding an explanation. For any league to go Gestapo and treat players and coaches like shit, pretending like the refs don't fucking blow, not holding refs accountable for such a piss poor performance, is stupid. The penalty on Harbaugh was stupid, and so is any backlash on what Belichick did.

I think the ref flopped a little, Bill obviously just wanted to shake his hand.

So what exactly is so bad about grabbing a refs arm?

DPG21920
09-23-2012, 11:47 PM
Strawman. No one is defending the refs for the terrible job they did. We are saying that there should never be a violent altercation with them.

Keep telling me about your deep concern for the ref's safety. I'm totally buying it.

You don't have to buy it - you just have to acknowledge that your argument was a strawman. Not defending Bill does not equal defending the refs for the way they officiated.

Grabbing an arm is violent?

Sprinting after the ref like a madman after yelling at them all game then trying to fight them is crossing the line.

"Not getting an explanation is worse than physically going after them" :lol

DUNCANownsKOBE

I said "sympathizing with the refs" as in you were feeling sorry for the poor widdle wef for getting his arm grabbed. That wasn't a strawman at all.

Uh, if physical contact in a fit of rage is not violent, then I guess not.

Bill freaked out & it could have gotten really nasty if that aggressive swipe landed. Ref will probably have a red mark or a fracture (he had to quickly pull his arm out of danger to aviod any further damage). Plus he looked terrified that at his job he would be physically intimidated and assualted at his place of work. Ref might sue for damages in addition to what the NFL does. They can't have assualts going on.

Knowing Goodell and his penchant for being a tin-plated dictator, he'll probably suspend BB for two games.

If after cheatgate and the minor slap on the wrist that was, if Bill only gets two games, there is something fishy going on.

How many first round picks have been forfeited in the league again? :D

Wow, after seeing that, it's pretty clear Bill has had formal training in martial arts. That ref was freaked the f out too. That was certainly an aggressive swipe - almost bear like.

Bill probably should have shown more restraint but it isn't really that big of a deal. Not sure why people think its suspension worthy.

If it was a coach not named Bill Belichick, people wouldn't think it's suspension worthy.

:lol Poor Bill just getting picked on by the masses. Fans & the media are all out to get a guy who doesn't cheat and hasn't had a temper issue. It's not his fault he attacked the ref after melting down after a ball crushing loss - it was the media and fans.

Aside from how pathetic, classless, and immature it was, the NFL specifically told every coach going into this week to chill the fuck out and leave the refs alone.... therefore, Belicheat is not only an asshole, but a stupid asshole too....

I think any deliberate contact with a ref the week after the NFL issues an edict prohibiting harassment of said refs gets a suspension.

Wrong.... if that nutjob in Detroit did it, or John Fox, or Jack Del Rio, people would be demanding a suspension, tbh....

There isn't an NFL fan that would give a fuck about either of them..
