Who do you think is the least deserving, low down sucky-est player to ever be voted into an all-star game since it came in existence?

He was money behind the arc that year and also went to the free throw line often.

Not sure where all the Wally Szczerbiak hate comes from, but the year he made the all star game, he was pretty good. 19ppg, 5rpg, and 3apg, to go along with 51% FG, and 45% 3pt.

WS is not a very likeable guy, but there have certainly been worse all stars.

Sons real talk it easily has to be Tim Duncan in 2011 when he was averaging around 12 and 7 at the time of being voted in. He had absolutely no business being there and took the spot of countless other far more deserving players that year.

Kobe in 2008. He only made a token appearance because of his finger. He started just for the sake of it.

Must be from that time he used his face to hit Bowen's foot.

Dale Davis is by far the worst all-star ever and nobody will ever top it.

Latarian Milton
09-26-2012, 06:37 PM
all-star subs are selected by the coaches and some of them are shitty players including Dale Davis, Vin Baker, Mo Williams just to name a few. however, if you mean the shittiest player voted into the all-star game i think you mean those who've started in all-star games, and you got a 7'6 dick who beat everyone to this

if you mean top 5 international players to ever play C in the NBA then maybe yes, there's no way in hell he could steal a place even in the top 10 tbh

Yao averaged 20 and 10 when healthy tbh. His problem was staying on the court - he makes Manu look like AC Green.

and he also made dampier look like shaq, and boozer like the prime karl malone. and you see a lot other players in NBA history who had 20+10 stats but were indeed chemistry cancers like the portland version of Z-bo

:lol playing the who gives a shit card.

The fact of the matter is the all star game is where the best of the best should play. Even without my homer glasses, Jeremy Lin isn't as good as Tony Parker. He's probably not even top 5 in pg.

Andrei Kirilenko

Come on man, a lot of these players were actually deserving.

Dale Davis was a fantastic glue guy, ultimate role player type the year he made it. Was he a superstar? No, but here is a guy who pulls down double digit rebounds and played fantastic defense, just a poor man's, non-head case version of a Rodman who made it.

Vin Baker was dynamite for a few years before he got fat/depressed.

Yao Ming was deserving of his All-star games (most of them) as he was a 20/10/2 guy in a center starved era. He was the leagues best center for a few years.

Zydrunas Ilgauskas was in because the league didn't have too many centers. Same with Brad Miller (and Miller, at one point was one of the best passing bigs in the league).

Andrei Kirilenko was the do-it-all guy. Sort of like Shawn Marion.

Jayson Williams was a rebounding machine.

Googs was a poor man's Larry Bird.

David Lee was a stat stuffer.

The question is, you mention these guys were the worst player to suit up, were they worse than BJ Armstrong or Mo Williams the years they were selected?

...but it's not. It's a popularity contest, not a place where the "best of the best" are represented. People get in because they are liked better, a certain race, etc.

So yes, I don't give a shit...and neither should you.

NBA is a fucking business and the businessmen don't give a shit whether he's even a top5 or not as long as he sell more tickets/jerseys. all star game is an exhibition where guys who have the biggest fan bases should play. e.g. the 7'6 dick who was voted to start in every all-star game except only one time when he sat out the entire season imho

well said, its all about cash, if they think more people would watch because lin is playing thats all that matters, its a meaningless game, strictly for marketing and money purposes only
