The audience participates while watching (like the song listed above)...some smaller theaters will still hold these kinda viewings a couple times a year, and they usually allow you to BYOB (or whatever you want to drink), dress up in costumes, throw shit at the screen, etc.

I'm surprised you've never at least heard of it.

When I was an exchange student in germany, my high school put it on (I had never seen the movie) and it was a blast. We did all the things that people usually do at the midnight showing (dancing on stage, throwing toast onto the stage, etc). Also, it was hilarious because the dialogue was in german, but the songs were sung in english so they were all like "I'm a sweet TRANSWESTITE, from TRANSEXUAL, TRANSELWAYNIA" :lol
