The grit-and-grind Memphis Grizzlies (http://www.cbssports.com/nba/teams/page/MEM/memphis-grizzlies) could be down a man heading into next week's training camp.
The Memphis Commercial-Appeal reports (http://twitter.com/CAGrizBlog/statuses/251034748636520448) that reserve forward Darrell Arthur (http://www.cbssports.com/nba/players/playerpage/1622526/darrell-arthur) sustained a leg fracture while playing pick-up basketball and the injury could compromise his availability for the start of camp. Later Wednesday, the Grizzlies confirmed that Arthur suffered a "small, non-displaced fracture in the head of the fibula in his left leg" and placed his recovery timeline at "an estimated 4-6 weeks."
Arthur, 24, is a physical power forward who averaged 9.1 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. Along with Marreese Speights (http://www.cbssports.com/nba/players/playerpage/1622551/marreese-speights), he provides depth behind Memphis' frontline starters: All-Star center Marc Gasol (http://www.cbssports.com/nba/players/playerpage/1231870/marc-gasol) and forward Zach Randolph (http://www.cbssports.com/nba/players/playerpage/240306/zach-randolph).
If Arthur winds up missing appreciable time, his loss will be more significant because of an offseason trade of forward Dante Cunningham to the Minnesota Timberwolves for reserve guard Wayne Ellington (http://www.cbssports.com/nba/players/playerpage/1685251/wayne-ellington). There was a logjam on the Grizzlies' roster with Randolph, Speights, Arthur and Cunningham, so the deal with Minnesota made sense. But one injury and one trade later, depth is a real question mark.
The Grizzlies open their preseason Oct. 6 against Spanish club Real Madrid in Memphis. Their regular-season opener is set for Oct. 31 against the Clippers in Los Angeles.

Missed the entire 2011-12 season with a torn ACL. Should have been a Blazer tbh
