They are getting the weather balloon ready...after they launch it will take him three hours to get to 23 miles high where he will jump out, break the sound barrier on his free fall and hopefully be conscious to open his parachute a couple of minutes later. Here is a live link. It's got a 20 second delay so they can cut it if it looks like he is gonna go splat.

Hopefully this is a better 20 sec delay than Shepard Smith has :lol

Also, it sure would be nice to have some kind of parachute that could be activated remotely by someone else....

I'm pretty sure it is an automatic deploy @ 5000 ft.

Ah, so they have those kinds of things? Here I thought I was the first one thinking that up! :lol

Yeah I've been following this guy for a while. They've canceled the jump 3-4 times since 2010.

Hopefully they can pull it off soon.

What I find most amazing about all of this isn't the jump but the 55-story (700 ft tall) balloon that will take him into the atmosphere. Holy shit.

Dude will die or his shit will get wrapped up. Probably postponed because there's not enough media attention yet.

The vapor isn't about the "barrier", and none actually exists (barrier). To better understand it, research the Prandtl-Glauert Singularity.

If he farts on the way down will the fart sound catch back up to him when he slows down? What if he stays constant at the speed of sound...will he hear the fart noise all the way down?

dude is an attention whore to say the least, doubt he ever has the intent to actually try it tbh. fact is the more times he postpones it the less people will give a shit about it anymore, he should just jump off the balloon w/o parachute next time in order to put an end to his shameless life in an epic way tbh

Maybe sunday (http://www.mnn.com/earth-matters/space/stories/baumgartners-historic-leap-now-scheduled-for-oct-14).

I think this will go down, it's just a matter of waiting out the weather conditions.

Red Bull has already invested a bunch of money in this and they want their publicity reward.

If you popped your head out of your ass you would produce a sonic boom.
