Wall Street profits have increased so much under Obama ? I was reading that Wall Street banks made more profit in the first 3 years of Obama than all of 8 years under George Bush. I thought Obama was for the regular people. Can this be right ? It seems he has a lot of Goldman Sachs people that work in his administration. How can this be ? How could he have let us down like this ? I thought Occupy Wall Street was pro Obama. I don't understand this. How can you protest against wall street AND be pro Obama if he has given them a lot of money. Why would people do this ?
Why did he pick Biden as his running mate when he could have had Mitt Romney. And why is Romney running against Obama if he makes him more money ?

What makes you think Barry is any different than dubya? Also, not sure where did you get that the OWS movement was "pro-Obama" either.

I just assume this because they were many hippies. They are usually democrats aren't they ? The Occupy Wall Street movement in general was started by two Canadians, from Vancouver. I believe they are part of a larger movement that I can't recall. I saw them on Current TV talking about how they get started. They don't like capitalsim so they protest and cause trouble in other ways to bring system down they say.

QE1,2,3, etc. TARP, FED lending $Ts to the financial sector, US and Europe.

war criminal dubya escaped having to deal with the Banksters Great Extortion and Depression.

Do you really think senile, unstable McLiar or dubya would have stopped Geithner and brow-beat Bernanke into NOT saving the financial sector?

The flip side of QE is corporate profits and $Ts cash in profits.

btw, I read the Japan in on their QE8 or something.

I have never met many hippies so I just go off of reputation. Being a hippie doesn't seem like conservative mind to me. It more like a rock musician or a person who smoke pot all the time. I don't know for sure but this seems correct to me. Like I don't see a cowboy with obama sticker on his pick up bumper. Maybe I make assumption based on mathmatical model of my observing. If I do not make assumptions I could not operate in this community well enough. I see man in wheelchair I assume he cannot walk but maybe he can. Maybe he just lazy or like wheelchairs. He rather sit than stand but he like to get around. I am not sure of this.

They don't like being screwed by unregulated capitalism and unrequlated financial sector. The system doesn't need to be taken down, only heavily regulated into fairness and stability, as it was 1945 - 1975. Banking was boring from 1935 until 1980, when ST Ronnie unleashed the Dogs of Capitalism (quickly followed by S&L collapse, bailout), and switched American from "tax and spend" to "borrow and spend"

I don't necessarily agree that the vast majority of OWS protesters were "hippies" either, tbh.

I am new to system so I don't know history. I can only see last 10 years. I like Bush first time but the second time I was against him. I like Obama when he start but now I do not understand him. He confuses me. So you tell me this is bad thing but who changes for the people ?

Nothing. They paint themselves blue or red, but they're both the same shit sandwich... IMO anyways.

I think it is too late for some. It will be hard for the future but it will be better than other places I think. America can still turn it over but time is getting close. It is sad to me to see people in denial about this.

I go back and read that when protesting was happening Obama comes out and says he is for the protest. Maybe he was just trying for sympathy of the protest. I see this in China. Government will say they support the people then spray them with water and arrest them just like here. It the same all over. Why protest only to get water. It can only get you in trouble.

It can get you wet too. Free shower!

ErnestLynch

I prefer to shower myself. I say this because the other poster says that the protest did not support Obama. He may be correct in this but Obama did say he supports the protest. I do not think he would support the protest if the protest does not support him. This is what I ask about Obama. One idea he says against the big banks and they are problem. Then he gives them lot of money then support the protest against the bank on wall street. It can make you crazy trying to learn what he is wanting.

I do not think he would support the protest if the protest does not support him.

Why?

It's no different for team red. A lot of GOP people came out saying they supported the Tea Party. Yet, the Tea Party is fairly particular on who they support.

They're politicians. They'll say whatever they think will give them votes. It doesn't always work though.

democrats say they're for the little guy and do a good job of painting the other side as the big bad rich guys whenever the Dems are incredibly racist and even worse for the middle class. they enact policies that hold the little guy back while pretending to be fighting for them..for example last night at the debate biden's talk about taxes. wanting to raise the taxes on small businesses by painting it as "those big bad businesses making more than 250k!" knowing that poor people will see that as a really high number and be on board with it, when in reality shutting down the small businesses creates more profit for the giant corps by shutting down the competition and guaranteeing them monopoly power. or when ryan talked about closing the tax loopholes, and all biden could counter with was some bullshit about raising taxes on people making more than 1 million per year knowing that the hordes of poor people will be like FUCK YEAH!!! without realizing that the "tax rate" doesn't actually mean shit as long as there are still loopholes. "raising the taxes on the rich" doesn't do shit as long as u leave the backdoor wide open on loopholes and biden/dems know this. just a couple of examples.

I don't know about Tea Party. I come here from Washington D.C. I did not see Tea Party protests but I did see occupy wall street protest and I didnot understand as it is not wall street where I live. How can you occupy space that isn't the space you are in. It just seems like it is silly to me. Then I find out that occupy wall street is a world wide movement started by Canadians which make me laugh. Silly people. I watch one man who was a hippy try to set a car on fire then he ran off as police chase him down. He probably does not even know why he does what he does. That is what I think. I think they are there because they don't have other things for them to do.

countercyclical action by the Fed has riven Wall Street from the fundamentals. eventually, this will bite us on the ass.
