Is it worth the buckage to you?

I'm currently toking on some 100% Kona and it is good. Normally $40 per pound, special $20 per pound (must buy two pounds, me and two chicks are having a three way).
I will say it's excellent. But i took advantage of the special, no way do i fork 40.

Some say the way you brew it makes all the dif in the world. Ie water temp, yada yada.

How much will you pay and how much detail do you put into brewing?

You realize that Kona is just a generic term for a particular growers co-op in a particular area of Hawaii, right? Within that co-op there are shitty growers and good growers and it all gets ground up and sold. If you want to get exclusive Hawaiian coffee you really need to get estate specific grinds.

Oh yeah, and if you have been paying $40 you have been getting ripped off.

Do yourself a favor and get a couple pounds of this coffee and do a side by side taste test.

Well I only have one cup per day and I use a Keurig, so it's safe to say I put minimal effort into brewing. I do however, pay for the good stuff, Wolfgang Puck's Breakfast in Bed, which runs $2 more per box than any other at Bed, Bath, and Beyond ;)

Actually, I do Folgers Colombian as a daily buzz. My kids are both coffee snobs though, so I have educated myself for gift giving and brewing when they are around. There really is a difference, I just don't need the primo shit at 5:30 in the morning to get me going.

Not a coffee snob, but I do love the stuff. I use a french press to prepare because it doesn't get any easier IMO.
Some of the best coffee I've ever had:

The main brand name Dallmayr Prodomo was created about 1960 and, according to advertising, is refined by a special procedure which removes the many irritants and bitter ingredients. The brand is well known in Germany and is advertised on TV.

A common grocery store coffee brand in Germany. I haven't seen it available anywhere else. I brought as much as I could back with me the last time I was over there. Excellent stuff.

Never understood the need to use chemicals to wake you up every morning, so I usually don't drink coffee.
