The Mavericks suspended West (http://espn.go.com/dallas/nba/story/_/id/8510708/delonte-west-dallas-mavericks-suspended-conduct-detrimental-team) for conduct detrimental to the team. According to published reports (http://sportsblogs.star-telegram.com/mavs/2012/10/delonte-west-has-been-suspended-by-the-mavs.html), Delonte blew up in the locker room last night following the Mavs’ preseason win over the Houston Rockets.
Reports ESPN:
Dallas Mavericks guard Delonte West has beensuspended for conduct detrimental to the team, Mavs coach Rick Carlislesaid. Carlisle did not specify a timetable for West’s suspension.
Sources said that West’s suspension stems at least in part froman outburst in the locker room after the Mavs’ 123-104 preseason winMonday over the Houston Rockets. He had 2 points, 2 assists and 1rebound in 16 minutes during the win.
Though deleted by now (https://twitter.com/CharleeRedz13), Delonte West did tweet out a couple of cryptic apologies (http://sportsblogs.star-telegram.com/mavs/2012/10/west-tweets-an-apparent-apology.html) after the suspension was announced.
