well with the latest episode of TUF receiving the lowest ratings ever, this should help for the next season

Jon Jones, Chael Sonnen to coach 'Ultimate Fighter,' fight April 27

UFC President Dana White told The Times on Tuesday that Jones and Sonnen have been assigned as opposing coaches in the third installment of "The Ultimate Fighter" on FX, creating some extensive pre-fight hype for their April 27 pay-per-view title match at a site to be determined.

"The Ultimate Fighter" with Jones and Sonnen is set to begin shooting on Oct. 29 in Las Vegas, with a debut in early January as young middleweights participate in a tournament that leads up to an April "TUF" finale at the Vegas Hard Rock Hotel, where the winner will receive a multi-fight UFC contract.

I've never actually watched a full season of TUF, just episodes here and there. Somehow I have a feeling that Season 17 is going to be something I can't miss. Chael is just incredibly entertaining (and if you haven't read his book, do it. F-ing hilarious).

To me TUF is okay when I have nothing else to do. And I'm watching almost every one, the american one.

As for Sonnen and Jones.
Damn that's not good. I was hoping to see Sonnen fight on December.

If I was Dana I would fuck the TUF ratings. There is Sonnen climbing the ladder and Jons to fight Hendo, Machida or SILVA on Feb probably.

Maybe it';s a sign that Silva really does not want to fight Jones and wants GSP next. White is waiting for the GSP-Condit fight and then will work on this superfight. WHo knows?

I love Sonnen mostly :) but damn. Let him fight at least one fight at 205.
As much as I like Sonnen approach to fighting he stands no chance against Jones. But he will demolish Jones in a war of words. Joes will fall but mentally overall it will make him stronger IMO.

Machida and Hendo got spanked by Dana. Hendo for not informing UFC about his injury soon enough. Machida for not taking the fight.
Chael gets present for challenging Jones to rescue UFC. That leaves Bones who probably got extra money to he is happy esp. with relatively easy fight with MW.

Here is the deal with Jones that pisses me off. First of all he didnt want to fight Chael because he said he didnt deserve it, fine I agree but nobody else stepped up to take the fight. Then he said He would have fought Chael, but he wanted ample time to prepare for him which is it Jon?

Then he went on to say he decided to fight Chael because its what the fans wanted to see, but in reality Jon the fans really want to see you fight Silva so dont act like your giving the fans what they want.

I think this would be a fight that would be so mentally draining for someone of Jones age and experience. Think about it, you are 25 and have only been in the game for 4 years and you are fighting the man everyone says is the GOAT.. That is serious pressure. I am not saying Jones can't win the fight but i'd hate to see him rush into it and on Siva's terms. Silva just a few days ago hinted that maybe he'll fight Jones but only at a catchweight,

I wish Silva was younger because we could be looking at a series of fights with Jones but IMO if he did fight Jones it would be one and done and he'd never risk a rematch. When GSP fought Hughes the first time he was not ready to overtake him but 2 years later he was fully prepared to smash Hughes... We'll see what shakes down here in the next year. Maybe the GSP fight happens at a catchweight and Silva loses.. Maybe Silva retires, maybe he fights Jones at 205.. Who knows?

^ yeah I was talking about that with a friend earlier today, it will probably be more psychological warfare than anything else between the 2. It seems like both will be good coaches though, and not just doing useless workouts, actually teaching them techniques and giving good commands cageside during the fights.

Watch out for this kid Uriah Hall, from Jamaica, moved to US as a kid got bullied; found MMA as a way to cope. You can tell he is a well grounded guy, mature, smart; and that is before you see his skills in the octagon.

Has good head movement to dodge and anticipate punches, good punch/kick combos. Wrestling and BJJ looks good as well.

Yep, this LOOKS like its gonna be one of the better casts in recent history. Lots of athleticism in the house. Uriah Hall is crazy athletic, and the dude he fought was very tough.

Gilbert made a mistake trying to catch Luke's flying knees, successful early, costly at the end. Luke didn't know what to do when he had top position and opportunities for elbows/punches to the head, and got reversed too much after getting a TD.

I missed the first episode and forgot to set my DVR (and I finally just watched episode 2 last night), so I haven't seen Hall fight. Is he really that impressive? Everyone seems to be talking like he's the second coming of Christ.

Whatever the case may be, I am really pumped for Tuesday's episode.

His striking looked crisp and explosive in the pre-fight to get in the house even though he did not finish. Didn't get a look at his ground game or TDD much. He looks to me like a raw talent with good striking.. I kind of think the days of superstars coming off TUF are at an end. MMA is large enough now that big time talent just sign with the UFC. We'll see though..

Of all the losing fighters on Team Jones, I think that I was most impressed by Clint. He BTHO of Jimmy for the entire first round. He definitely deserves the wild card spot - Bubba didn't do crap in his fight.

I suspected that Bones called in a favor for Bubba, and that's why they gave Bubba the worst fighter on the show. It was confirmed when dumb-as-rocks Jon Anek stated, "There were a lot of guys that wanted to fight Bubba, but matchmaker Silva said that Markus was the first to call." or some nonsense like that. Right, Joe Silva always says, "Whoever calls first gets the fight!" Give me a fucking break.

Great first round from Faber. He looks fantastic.
He is scary fast. After the first round I thought that he was ready to fight for the belt again, but then he slowed down each round thereafter, and the oh-so-overrated Mexi-Pooh-stach was actually mounting a comeback. Jorgenson sucks turtle sac. Faber is past his prime and has too many miles on him; he'll forever be a gatekeeper from this point on.

Kelvin impressed the hell out of me, and Hall's ground game was actually better than I expected.

Also, that Tate-Zingano fight was really good. I was impressed with how Cat came back after the first round.

Bubba is not a UFC fighter and he fights on a main event :rolleyes

My goodness why can't we get good main cards based on how good fighter is rather then how popular he is or might be.

Tate was going at it. She wanted to finish fast! I knew he lost the fight b4 I watched it and I thought he will lose stupid as most girls does rushing a hell. But Cat took it and finished although I though Winslow stopped it too early /she is top worse ref on the UFC stage tbh/

Hall's fight was bad. He was fighting like he did not care or didnot gave enough credit to Kelvin who was successful pushing forward with Uriahs guard down.

Well now Kelvin will drop to 170 but he might be too slow to be a contender on that division. Guys like Koscheck are much more explosive.

Faber-Jorgensen - funny fight cause both guys knows eachother very well and it was really fun to watch the exchanges and the ground game. Very technical superb fight worthy of being ME.

I see Jones taking Sonnen down and sobmitting him or elbowing to death. Like Anderson had Sonnen down he finished him early.
Top position for Sonnen doubtful but who kanow maybe he can take Jones down once.
