Pelicans is a perfect name. It's a semi-black/brown awkward bird with big mouth that does nothing but shit and eat, and where you see one you see 10. It's got a deep throat and a large piece of meat can easily slide down. It's comfortable sitting on a dock as long as someone is feeding it. It does absolutely no work.

Pelican is the state bird of Louisiana. Its on the state flag.

New Orleans Pelicans used to be the name of a minor league baseball team. Current Hornets/Saints owner Tom Benson bought the rights to the name a long time ago. I think his rights expired recently.

Personally I don't like the name.
