My Tigers vs either SF or SL.

Pitching rotation for Tigers: Verlander, Fister, Sanchez, Scherzer, Verlander, Fister, and maybe Scherzer in game 7 instead of Sanchez.

This series is interesting. I would say the Giants pitching overall was much more impressive than the Tigers in the LCS. The Yanks bats aren't hard to stop in October while the Cards bat are much better/tougher (Baltimore held them in check as well). The starting pitching I feel will each hold their own in this series. It will come down to the bullpens and that favors the Giants. I like the Giants in 6.

I like the Giants too. Tigers are known for choking after a long layoff. Saw the same thing in '06. They swept the A's, while the Cards won in 7 at Shea Stadium. Tigers pretty much were a disaster in that series. I expect something similar in this series. I'm sure Miggy and Prince have put on 20 more pounds during their layoff. I like Giants in 6 as well.

The Tigers are in for a long series. I expect them to have their share of success, but it won't be easy by any means. The Giants bats are so damn good at working the count and advancing the runners. That type of O wins in the playoffs. Then you have their pitching which has just been lights out especially their bullpen. Detroit is facing by far the toughest team they have faced this postseason.

I felt like I was in Bizarro world watching this game. Giants looked completely ready for Verlander. Worked deep into counts and laid off his filthy stuff. Made the guy work and got him frustrated early.

And Barry Fuckin' Zito. Holy shit. He's really locating his pitches well and keeping guys off balance - plus another RBI :lol...Then, Lincecum comes in and gives an entirely new look that kept the Tigers reeling. He's been phenomenal out of the pen

Now I get to be nervous about Bumgarner. What kind of stuff will he have? If it's bad then you'll see a reverse of this score or worse. He's a gamer, though. People forget that he closed out the Rangers as a rookie in 2010

It's going to be a long series. Highly doubt the Tigers bats will be silent for too long and they've got an awfully good pitcher going tomorrow night.

Not always necessarily true...look at how many people sell their rings and hit rock bottom after winning a championship. Unless you're a star or a HOF candidate, you go largely invisible for the rest of your life. I'm not sure if winning a title is 100% without its own issues.

Fister was great tonight, especially after taking one to the dome, but the Tigers just look lost offensively.

Bumgarner was on and once again the Giants found a way to win by doing little things and a few big ones.

Pence fighting to get a ball into the outfield when behind in the count. Posey making a great tag after a stellar relay. Bochy making what seems like the right call in every situation. Picking off Infante. etc.

The Giants play good, solid, fundamental baseball. When you do little things right all the other breaks seem to go your way, like that bunt that refused to go foul

SF is also about a million times more relaxed than the Tigers appear to be. Just like 2010, the Giants have a special chemistry that lends itself to success. (so far)

Oh, and Romo is a boss

I'll say it again, but I still think it's going to be a long series. Tigers should play better at home and I keep thinking their bats are going to break out. Won't be easy against Cain and Vogelsong, though

Of course not. But its pretty obvious the bats are alive today for them. One game at a time.

Giants caught a break there avoiding the DP.

This may win them the game.

Cabrera better hit a homer. Don't want to wait for Prince to bat.

Good postseason, Tigers. VMart will be back next year and DD making right moves will bring us back to the WS again.

If Posey wasn't injured last year, are we looking at a 3-peat for the Giants?

What a terrible celebration but congrats, their pitching is just lights out and while the offense isn't spectacular they get every clutch hit

I expect a Tigers sweep of the Giants.

Congrats shock. Now you have a new retort when arguing back and forth with me about the Red Sox. lol

Respect to the Tigers and their fans, with the exception of Irishock. I'll enjoy watching your meltdown and reminding you of this sweep as often as possible :toast

What a boring, non-competitive World Series after last year's thrilling 7 game series. Not good for Baseball...

Will it be a repeat of Spurs v Cavs sweep where Celts and Lakers made it the next year

Yankees and Red Sox next year?

Yeah it seems not much hype and excitement was going on this year. I was rooting for the Tigers. I like them, but theyre line up wasnt holding up their end. Hopefully VMart comes back and delmon young looses that weight.

This World Series was one of the worst of all time. A 4 game sweep with pathetic offense by the Tigers. How many innings did they have a lead in the World Series? Their offense went ice cold just like the Rangers did in 2010 but at least the Rangers won a game.

Brian Wilson scares me

Jacob1983

Interesting how things change. Wilson was a cheerleader for the Giants this time but in 2010, he was one of the main reasons why they won the World Series. It was the opposite for Barry Zito. He was a bench warmer in 2010 but saved the Giants this time.

Of the last 4 teams (in 40 years) to sweep their LCS and then go on to play the other team in the WS who went 6+ games, the team that swept has a grand total of 2 wins in the WS.

2 fucking wins.

Too long of a layoff. Much, much too long.

I'm sorry, but you can't use the long layoff on why the Giants swept/dominated the Tigers.

Yes I can. Its why every team under the circumstances I laid out were dominated by the other team that didnt sweep.

Hey, now I know how Yankees fans feel. Whatever. Win or lose, doesnt mean shit to me really. Giants won in dominating fashion. A sweep, 4 straight.

What do you care what I think? Just post a screenshot of some Giant holding the trophy and win the argument already.
