The thing I'm most impressed with is how in the world was it only 75 degrees in San Antonio in the middle of June that day

Interesting that Manu was about 26 years old at that time and already had a 7 year career under his belt, MVPs and championships from Europe.

One of the main things I remember about their press conference together that got me excited at the time was SJax saying that he wanted to play with Manu for years to come. Such a shame that he left for Atlanta on a 1 year/$1 million deal. I would've loved to see what the core of TD, Tony, Manu, Jax, and Bowen could have done over the next 5 years or so. I always tend to wonder if we would've repeated having Jax on the 04' team instead of Hedo....

Hedo was the reason why we didn't repeat that year. Our Defense was unbelievable that year. We would've beaten the Pistons that year. More importantly, unlike 2005, Duncan was in his prime.

man that brought back some great memories! great find! i also wonder what it would have been like to still have jax instead of hedo in 04. there is no doubt that we would have beaten the lakers. games 3 and 4 we couldnt buy a bucket and i know jax would have provided more scoring and swagger than hedo.

I don't know what you are talking about here. Tim was still in his prime is 2005, he was also the best player in the playoffs in 2006 and 2007.

Did you even recall that Tim had a badly sprained ankle a few weeks before the playoffs started in 2005? He missed the last few weeks of the regular season and some of us were even worried he might miss playoff games. His ankle wasn't anywhere near 100% when those playoffs started and then he sprained the other ankle (not as badly) in game 6 of the Seattle series. He basically played on two sprained ankles for half that playoff run and I thought he still played awesome. I can't imagine how much more he would have dominated if he was closer to 100% for that whole run.

You are 100% correct, some might not remember but games 1 and 2 of the finals that year he outrebounded and outscored both Wallaces combined! Thats big.

It would've been great if we could've signed both SJax and Manu but at the time if we resigned SJax for the money he wanted we might've lost Manu the following year when he was a free agent.

I think Tiago is the better Joker, since he also has a prop... or he has the better prop, I should say. Can't believe I forgot about the Uzi.:oops
