I'd rather have Novak than Bonner. Same basic player, but one is clutch. But guess what, we let Novak go too.
Meh. Novak looked worse than Bonner when he was here. Put Bonner in NY and he will probably do well too. I prefer neither, tbh.

I'm not really advocating either. Just trying to show that I'd rather have anyone than Bonner. I also feel that Novak would not shrink in the playoffs, like Bonner does anually.

Novak isn't here for the same reason that Curry is not here. They cannot play fundamentally correct defense. If you cannot remember your rotations and execute them then you will not play. Splitter got yanked in the playoffs last year because of it.
Don't get me wrong, i cannot stand Bonner either but Ferry or Horry are your desired models and Bonner is closer to them than Novak. And no I am not saying that Bonner really compares but Novak sure as hell doesn't.

Bonner would get waived his first day on the Knicks. Novak can actually play both forward spots which Bonner can't.

Bonner's really not that good in the regular season either. He lacks the ability to dribble and drive, which makes him useless when his shots aren't falling.

They were +12 (They outscored the Wizards by 12). That's more than any other lineup that Popovich has used this season.

The thing with Bonner is that he does fill a serviceable niche in the Spurs system during the regular season. Spurs stress the importance of the open three and imo are the best at finding open shooters. He nails threes at an advanced rate and fills his role nicely. His +/- speaks for itself. But the thing that bugs me is that the playoffs are a different animal. The great teams in the playoffs adjust and close out on shooters. He becomes non existent when smart coaches force him to put the ball on the floor.

Unfortunately for Patty, I don't think he will get a lot of playing time this year. He missed a good portion of training camp which Pop does not like. Just like how Splitter missed training camp his rookie year and we saw how that went.

Well, he DID get minutes tonight and was effective in the limited minutes that he played. De Colo and Joseph haven't even entered the game, so I'd think that Pop ranks Mills ahead of them.

Spurs' Towel waving Position:
1st String: Cory Joseph, 2nd String: Gary Neal, 3rd String: Josh Powell.
Patty Mills has been demoted to Backup PG, and won't be seeing any playing time at the Bench Waving position for the rest of the season!

leonard started off horribly last season and picked up as time went on to where he raised his numbers to respectable %'s
hes also trying more off the dribble moves and slashing now where as last season he just set up a tent in the corners
leonard will become a double digit scorer but he wont be efficient
somewhere around 40-43%
i like his reboundind and his defense looked good at times, still needs to work on getting around screens
given 36 mins a night i expect him to be around 9 to 10 rebounds a game and be an elite rebounder in the league

His shot selection is horrible alot of times and he is not a backup PG by ANY means. I hope POP gets over this notion he is a PG soon but lord knows he won't.

Gary Neal is expendable to this team. 1-5 FG, 0-3 3PTFG
Meanwhile Patty Mills always seems to play well. 11 minutes, 10 points, 3ast, 4-4FG, +15. He is a fantastic backup to Parker.
Hopefully Neal and Bonner are two casualties before the trade deadline.

Nut up? It's a simple question: "What did you not see from Curry that you'd have liked to see?" Or "Do you plan on seeing what Patty Mills can do with an increased workload?". These interviews are shit.

Schedule makers screwed the spurs on that one.
Playing against a very young and fast team like the Hornets the night before is definitely going to show in the home opener.
Fuck that how fucking tired can they really be on the second game of the fucking season? No. So far the defensive effort is not there at all and that's what puts them in a bind.
