They did get Lamb and Adams out of the deal,.... but man that's just awful. Makes Birds recent dealing seem like Buffords.

Traded Harden to the benign Rockets and the following year they lured Howard. Now they have the centerpieces in place to challenge the Thunder.

Harden and Martin are both extremely adept at getting to the line and both provide scoring energy. Harden is clearly a better defender.

thanks Presti :tu

Thank Clay Bennett. He's the tightwad that refused to pay the tax. Presti just works for him.

Like Mel said, it was very surprising to see so many think OKC (basketball wise) did well. The biggest assets they got (the picks) haven't amounted to much as it's much harder drafting when you don't have awesome clear cut picks (although they get credit for WB and Harden as those weren't completely "no brainers").

Not sure who was giving Bennett advice on drafting then.

Not trying to defend Martin or Harden because both are terrible defensively. The main problem with Harden is that not only he is horrible, but he doesn't even try.He is careless and lazy. He has much better physical tools, he is stronger and more athletic than Martin.

I mean, look at this : Can you imagine Pop coaching this?

Yes, I've seen those video clips at least twice before. Harden is far from being a Kawhi Leonard or a Paul George, who are wing players ...both with Defensive Efficiency ratings of 99 (pts/100 poss). However, he has gotten much less attentive to defensive assignments in Houston. That doesn't mean he doesn't make defensive plays.

The point remains, whether 2012 or 2014, Harden is a better defender than Kevin Martin.

Both Reggie and Ibaka were 24th picks in the draft.

Presti has done a hell of a job drafting the right players. Its just too bad he works for a cheapskate. If I was the owner, I would have amnesty Perkins and bit the 18 mil he was owed over this and next season to keep Harden. Certainly helped the Spurs to get back on top again.

I wasn't trying to imply they were horrible at drafting, just that late picks are much more difficult to pan out as stars. They have done a very good job with their picks overall, especially The formally big 4.
