I met Chris Roberts when I was working for one of the main developing studios for Star Citizen.
From January to late April (contract).
They delivered the dog fighting module and and take care of the planet side.
I hired a bunch of talented artists and developers for them.
Also the Producer is pretty cool. He let me walk in the SC floor whenever I wanted, and he even got me a Cloud Imperium hoodie

LOL...
One thing for certain. My computer will not handle it. I knew it wouldn't, Its an E6300 at 2.8 ghz. I had a better graphics card in it at one time, the MSI R4350, but took it out because I have nothing that needs it. Back to the onboard Intel G41 express. I've been thinking of upgrading, and this requires more than I planned. This might be what gets me to do so. Besides, I need something to power the 4k monitor I plan to buy.

According to that site, it's recommending a 2700k/780/12 GB RAM to run Ultra. I'm currently running a 3570k @ 4.5 Ghz, overclocked 680, 16GB RAM.

Yup, when they designed it they wanted it to exceed the top end rig of the day just like Crysis did when it was first released.
As of now, there are three options for graphics: Low, medium, and high. This is still a pre-alpha, though. :lol Even low looks phenomenal (as in, some of the best graphics I've ever seen). I can run medium reasonably well but it hangs really bad at certain points. Low runs OK on my machine. Going to build a new one next year around the Oculus Rift for the full release of SC. Whatever high end video card AMD/Nvidia releases that gives the best SC performance for the $ is going in that system.

So they only have presets? No customization of the graphics options individually? And yeah, I'm probably gonna upgrade my GPU with the 800 series Nvidia, depending on the performance gains. Processors have much longer lifespans so I shouldn't bottleneck there.

They will certainly add more detailed graphics settings at some point in the future. As I said, it's pre-alpha right now so it's a very barebones experience. To run it on high right now they recommend a 780. :lol

Do you even notice any benchmark gains? I know with Haswell high end RAM performs at exactly the same level as the shittiest DDR3 out there when it comes to gaming, as long as you have the same amount of RAM. I bet it's probably the same all the way back to Sandy Bridge at least. God damnit though, with 12GB as the recommended spec I'm going to have to go to a 16GB kit too for this game since I went cheap on the board (H81, which only has 2 DIMMS). Oh well, guess I can put the 8GB kit in my HTPC with the Titans tbh.

Holy shit. Chris Roberts the same guy that did wing commander is doing star citizen!?!?!? :wow
damn this guy came back from the dead!
In 2011, Chris Roberts founded Cloud Imperium Games Corporation, together with his business partner and long-time international media attorney Ortwin Freyermuth, to work on a new game. On October 10, 2012, Cloud Imperium Games launched a crowdfunding campaign from the Roberts Space Industries website with the stated goal of raising between two and four million dollars to produce a space sim game for the personal computer in a sandbox vein. It was being built on the Cryengine 3 game engine. The game promised to integrate a traditional "branching storyline" game to be called Squadron 42 with a persistent online universe game to be called Star Citizen. On October 18, 2012, at the request of fans, a Kickstarter campaign was launched to run in conjunction with the Roberts Space Industries website. By November 19, 2012 when the combined campaigns concluded, they had earned $6,238,563, approximately 4.1 million from the RSI campaign, and approximately 2.1 from the Kickstarter campaign. This surpassed all stretch goals set for the campaign, and broke video game industry crowdfunding records, both in funds received and in number of backers.[1] Chris Roberts had stated that if at least $23 million could be raised over the course of the crowdfunding campaign, no outside investors' or developers' funding would be required. This goal was reached October 18, 2013.[2] As of July 10th, 2015, they have raised just under $85 million.[3] :wow :wow :wow :wow :wow :wow
In 2013 Chris Roberts announced Star Citizen would be created in modules to be released when playable. The first, the Hangar Module, was released on August 29th 2013, [4] and allowed the player to interact with certain ships planned for the game. The Dog-Fighting Module was released on June 3rd, 2014[5] under the name Arena Commander and allowed playing and testing of the game's dog-fighting system.

Star Citizen Video Game Launches $27,000 Players' Pack
Crowdfunded space simulation game Star Citizen has launched its $27,000 Legatus Pack (http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-44290194), which includes nearly all its spacecraft plus extras. Only players who have already spent $1,000 in the game can access the pack. Cloud Imperium, the creators of Star Citizen, has received more than $200m in crowdfunding since launching a Kickstarter campaign for it in 2012. According to its website it has more than two million players, although the game itself is still in development. Star Citizen aims to create a vast science fiction universe that can be explored in dozens of spaceships, with first-person space combat, all online and multi-player.

Micro transactions created a toxic environment with "pay to bully" games and an uneven playing field for competition. Switch is seriously taking all of my cookies. I just picked up the Phoenix Wright Trilogy and Monster Hunter Ultimate for Switch, so I might hold off on AC. It looks amazing though.

This next month is just ridiculous for Switch. Astral Chain on Friday, Link's Awakening and Ni No Kuni on September 20th, then Dragon Quest XI S on September 27th. Probably won't even touch my Playstation 4 this next couple of months (nor PC, since my GTX 970 crapped out and I'm not buying a new GPU until I find out what Cyberpunk needs :pctoss).
Though I probably will play my Vita a bit still since I play Persona 4 Golden on it to study Japanese from a native source.

Nintendo is finally getting the 3rd party support they haven't had since... SNES? It's crazy how many good games are out. I picked up Transistor for $4.

Regardless of the vision behind this game, these games always end up being gankfests and griefing, with maybe a decent solo or friends only mode.
