Bigz.

Really? I thought that place sucked bad and was overpriced.

Also, I saw something sad there. The guy who was my GM when I worked at IHOP 12 years ago was the busboy at Bigz the one time I went.

The Company Burger in New Orleans.

Or Cowbell, though that's less a burger joint than it is a restaurant that happens to have really good burgers.

why do all burger places insist on topping their burgers with the shittiest iceburg lettuce available?

Chris Madrids is legit, they've been doing it for a LONG time! I was fortunate I grew up about 2 block from it. :lol They also used to have a Joust arcade game that would eat your money

Umami Burger, Father's Office, The Counter, and The Apple Pan are also L.A.'s best place to grab a burger...

I used to love The Apple Pan when I live in the area. It and Pie 'n Burger in Pasadena were my favorites, but I haven't been to either in over a decade.

Just haven't been in the area or did you become vegetarian?

In N' Out still makes 'em pretty good for a chain...

Haven't been in the area. I grew up there, but my mom moved to central Cali at the same time I graduated high school and moved away for college, so without any family there I just haven't had many reasons to go back.

Ah, yeah, they still make them really well--though I have cut back on red meat...but I still get one once in a while. This thread doesn't help when you're starving haha.

If you are rolling I-20 through East Texas heading to Shreveport it's worth getting off in Longview and heading to the Butcher Shop. Not only are the burgers great but it is also a bakery that makes some next level desserts. They have a meat market too so you can get the burgers they serve and take some home with you.

You been to Maple and Motors burger joint in Dallas? Don't know if you could afford it with your salary but thought I'd ask anyway.

I'll give Goodfriend a try though.

Big Bobs review: Cheeseburger was good but not anything extra special IMHO. Onion rings were beautiful but batter was too heavy IMHO. Not even close to Tip Top quality on the onion rings.

Chris Madrid's Review: Hamburger was juicy and succulent like a Big ol' Fawtbox. As I ran my tongue down the melted cheddar cheese pouring out of this masterpiece of a hamburger, the meat slightly quivered and shook till I thrust my mouth forward and took a big ol bite ......... as to which, the tasty juices enveloped my taste buds.

Damn....those are kind of like my ranch burgers. I do 80/20 HEB fresh grind infused with worcestershire and fiesta fajita seasoning. Then cook the burgers and thick sliced pepper bacon and sliced jalapenos on the smoker for a couple of hours. grill the HEB texas sized buns slashed with olive oil, add the peppers/cheese/bacon (as requested) to the top of the meat the last 5 minutes and serve open face with all the trimmings at the burger bar for a make your own gourmet burger treat.

You got me at jalapenos...

We make habanero infused burgers for the USC - UCLA game but this year we're going with the bhut jolokia or ghost pepper infused one and maybe next year the Naga Viper...

I'm already burning up mouth/and anally lolz.
