Early on (even without Gino) this game has me more concerned about OKC. Spurs had to hit a game winner even though OKC shot sub 40% and they are working in a major piece with little time. I don't know if this Spurs team can beat OKC in a 7 game series even without Harden.

Parker again shitting on Westbrook like he has his whole career.

Btw, Barkley needs to educate himself on Westbrook's stats against Parker, and stop acting like 6/21 isn't par for the course for him against TP.

Westbrook's career regular season FG% against Parker: 37%

Westbrook's FG% against parker in the playoffs: 37%

How well does he think Westbrook is supposed to be shooting against TP? He almost ALWAYS struggles against Parker.

Early on (even without Gino) this game has me more concerned about OKC. Spurs had to hit a game winner even though OKC shot sub 40% and they are working in a major piece with little time. I don't know if this Spurs team can beat OKC in a 7 game series even without Harden.

If Westbrick continues to be shit, won't be a problem

Great effort on a back 2 back by everyone on the Spurs! The Duncan contest-and-rebound, the Diaw save falling out of bounds to Parker for 3 as shot clock is running down. Pop subs-in Leonard for Jack for defense. Leonard makes the steal. Great play drawn up for Parker and misdirection totally opens up Parker for the winner. Total team effort on tired legs.

He shit the bed about as bad as you could hope for today and they almost won. He didn't have a great series vs the Spurs last year and they still won. The issue is, OKC can play poorly (like today) and it is still incredibly tough for the Spurs to beat them. Maybe a healthy Gino makes that a much different story, but I am not sure.

I don't think there is any reason to be alarmed this early on. Spurs didn't play well either....didn't hit outside shots, didn't spread the floor well, didn't pass well, no Manu, etc. Westbrook and Durant will play better, but outside of those two, who else is going to really perform? I don't see anyone for the Thunder who will step up enough in a 7 game series for them.

Agree with Solid D though - just a great effort and the energy level of this team is so great. They dont seem to have those long lapses anymore. They compete throughout.

Wow, Westbrook was just BRILLIANT tonight! Hell, I was pleased with Martin. He came out there and filled in nicely. He made good decisions with the ball and made some shots - way more than I can say for the remainder of the team. Not real sure how we almost won that, but whatever. Duncan was very very good tonight. Oh well, on to tomorrow.

That was with Harden lightning the Spurs up tbh. They don't have Harden anymore. Harden was killing us all series.

OKC can't beat us if we're healthy, even with ref assistance. We were on a b2b and no Mr. Glass. Still won because Westbrook always gets killed by Parker.

A+ for Pop tonight. He had it all going. Bonner with only 8 minutes. Taking Splitter out (sorry it wasn't his night). Timely substitutions and well drawn up plays. And acted like a stiff during the interview, classic Pop.

Tbh, the Spurs played pretty bad tonight. Yeah, Duncan had a good game but he disappeared in the second half. Leonard was missing open shots, we were 5-19 from 3's, and it looked like Blair was trying to give the game away out there.

How are you possibly disappointed in Kawhi's effort tonight? If your talking about his shot not falling, then you're missing the big picture of his stellar play the past two nights.

I still need to re-watch to see what the Spurs were doing to be so successful on defense. I have not been able to pin point anything yet in the last 6 quarters that led to the improvement. Obviously Kawhi getting 5 steals a game helps and Tim is playing well, but overall, I haven't studied it enough to see what big differences there are this year so far compared to last season.

Well, when you play very hard defensively all night, your offense may suffer a little, especially on a back to back game. Kawhi had to keep up with KD most of the night...and he still got 5 steals.

When OKC shoots 29-77, you're doing something right.

That is the one thing I have noticed so far - those infamous Spurs lulls have not been there. Used to be 3rd quarters were just always awful. Difference now is that even if they miss shots, the infusion of youth has really kept the energy level high throughout.

Limited minutes for blair/bonner, small ball w Jax/Kawhi, and not having to play against a legit post player IMO

okc started off very hot from mid range
like 4-4 and collison was knocking everything down
once they cooled down it became easy
they didnt really put the thunder on the line much either like they normally get there

Yep, that's a very good point. Of course the Spurs didn't get to the line much either but that made a difference, as did the Spurs' 27 assists on offense.
