A nice start. Draft is Friday.

Wilkerson is a nice surprise. I thought he'd go back to Europe.

Good to see Witherspoon wasn't scooped up by someone else. He'll be very interesting to watch early on.

Tbh, I don't like Dentmon being on the team. He's too much of a ballhog and hurts the ability to get a read on the other players. It would be a colossal failure if Cory Joseph is sent down only to play shooting guard next to Dentmon. Joseph, assuming he's going to Austin at some point, needs to be the undisputed point guard on the team.

Nice squad. Do you know Marcus status Chump ?

Hopefully a back-to-back title. :toast

I think I got it wrong.

:lolIt's Justin Dentmon. For some reason I thought it was Marcus, but not only he doesn't have that T in his name, but still has a contract in France I assume.

Anyway, it's still a nice squad. And I agree with tim. Cory has to play the point. There's no reason to send him to Austin to be a SG.

It would be a colossal failure if Cory Joseph is sent down only to play shooting guard next to Dentmon. Joseph, assuming he's going to Austin at some point, needs to be the undisputed point guard on the team.Considering Joseph's development into an actual borderline NBA point guard, I would think this is the case. There are a bunch of guys who can play some point but nowhere close to Cory's level.

Pretty good starting lineup if even if they don't draft anyone great.

PG - Joseph
SG - Dentmon
SF - Witherspoon
PF - Green
C - Wilkerson

And plenty of solid D-League guard/forwards off the bench. They need to pick up at least one rotation level big man.

Don't forget De Colo may spend a little time down on the Toros. I see him as getting time at the point down there as well.

Right, the Spurs are definitely not looking for a point guard, so it doesn't make sense to develop any free agent at that position like they did last season.

What are the trade Rules in the D-League? If Dentmon could be moved to D League team so Joseph has a more clear role, that would be better for development. Are there good D-League wings whose NBA teams have recently drafted a Wing they want to develop?

That's a nice talented roster.

D-League draft is today but the Toros have only one good pick at #15. I guess they will go after a bigman to balance their roster.

A player that should end up as a Toros this year is Ryan Richards. D-League would be the best way for him to develop his game. He can enter it through the available player pool once Toros are on the top of claiming priority list.

:lol Did the Toros actually have to waste a draft pick on Wangmene? You'd think the Spurs would have the inside track on him after the draft . . .

Using a pick, even if it's a late pick, on Wangmene just sound wrong. Going with another guard with their top pick is weird too. Toros are a lot like Spurs and have decided to stockpile guards.

Thanks for the post. I'll be intently watching the development of Witherspoon. If he can elevate to playing defense in the same manner Kawhi has been performing, in the near future Spurs could have TWO long, athletic superior defenders with 3 point ability on the perimeter.

Probably drafted Wangmene just so he could say somebody did. Nice gesture...but I wouldn't have done it.

They got their third "big" man. Good trade.

Looks like Sullivan did pretty darn well two years ago in the D-League. I can't find what stats he put up last year (looks like he was in Israel) but sounds like a good trade to me.

He was in the league a couple of seasons ago on the championship RGV team, and I saw him play against UTSA a couple of times.

Too skinny for the NBA, but a decent enough D-League PF and a nice athlete.

It's sad but our biggest need any we have no one on this team that has any chance of making it at PF or Center...:(

That's a strange move. Lovedale was picked in the third round and Bonneau in the sixth round of the draft.

A possible explanation of this trade would that, with the Sullivan trade, Toros though that Lovedale has no shot at making the final 10 men roster. They made a nice gesture and traded him to a team where he had a shot at making it. Antoner explanation would be some personal issues and Lovedale asking to be a traded.
