View Full Version : Lakers: How long does Mike Brown have?

Considering all the hype generated during the off-season about Nash and Howard joining forces with Gasol and Bryant you would think the Lakers would be 3-0 rather than 0-3 right now. The Lakers seemingly have all the pieces they need to dominate the west but are instead starting off with the worst record they've had since the 70's. Obviously Mike Brown must be really fearing for his job right now and thus it seems appropriate to ask: How much longer does he have left in LA?

End of the month. Lakers can't waste this year, not just for age, but in selling organization to Dwight. Gotta right things quickly. Plus Nash won't be illused for too much longer before staging his lockerroom coup d'etat...

I'm interested to see whether he has already spelled doom for his career as a coach or if he'll find a way to redeem himself before he gets the boot.

Lakers won't lose to Detroit... no way... so he'll be ok for a while

It's like Bonner hitting a 3 against the Hornets at home.

Couple of more games. He's a terrible coach.

Agreed. A win against Detroit will be meaningless UNLESS it's a blowout and one of the biggest reasons for the blowout are the plays Mike Brown is calling. The guy really has to step it up and FAST or else he's headed for an early retirement.

well they might lose on purpose just to get Mike Brown fired, as a matter of fact I think they might be doing it already just for that purpose

Tbh, Lakerfan better hope Mike Clown keeps his job, because the alternative is D'Antoni... :lmao

Tbh, D'Antoni with the Lakers would be scary. He'd fix the offense and there's only so bad the defense can be with Dwight in the middle.

Tbh, the team is too old and slow to run D'Antoni's offense, and D'Antoni is as clueless about team defense as Mike "Defensive Mastermind" Brown...

Plus, players don't seem to respect him at all... Melo ran him out of New York, and I've heard stories that in Phoenix, D'Antoni would draw up plays, and Nash would erase the plays and tell the players to ignore him...

not that bad imho, forget the past and pre season they only went 0-3 in the regular season which ain't remotely the worst. mavs also went like 0-4 at the start of 06-07 but they finished atop the league with 60+ wins come the end of the REGULAR season imho

I hope Mike Brown is still the coach. He will be their downfall in the playoffs

Anyone think tonight's victory will give Mike Brown any breathing room or his career as a coach already destined for an untimely end?

D'Antoni is the rumor...like I was saying earlier tonight. But in my opinion, that would be worse than Brown...they can't run his O and he can't coach D...

Brown or Pringles, neither will help the team. Best bet is just to get a defensive assistant to cover up potato head's incompetence.

That would be the smart move...
