I'm tired of giving Infinity Ward/Treyarch my money, so I'm planning on getting this next? The last Halo I played is Halo 3, so it's been awhile since I played a Halo game.

Who else here is planning on getting it?

Hated Halo 3. Traded as soon as I beat it. ODST was way better with controls.

Just popped it into the Xbox. I'm a massive halo fanboy so I'm sure I'll love it but it looks so much more badass and like a lot more work was put into this than Halo 3. 343 is doing it right, unlike Bungie

I thought I heard something about Windows 8 being able to play Xbox games. is there any truth to that? I kinda want to try halo 4, but not gonna buy an xbox for it

Its pretty good so far but still trying to figure out which loadout is the best for certain maps. That scatter shot gun is way to powerful in though imo.

Light Rifle/BR, Stickys, Promethean Vision... hasn't failed me in any map, reg or big team.

I spoke too soon. It is the best Halo for me as well. I am actually doing pretty well copared to other Halo games. Usually top 3 in kills in most matches.

having read all of the books there are things that annoy me about the game but it's pretty fucking awesome, it's mostly minute storylines here and there that are missing. for instance, the new covvies are called "the storm" hence the storm rifle, this is covered in the book but not the game, so when chief wakes up four years after the end of the war and there's still covenant, it's kinda confusing.

I waited over an hour for Amazon's lightening deal on Halo and it turned out to be $.04 off and a gift card for $20. Fuck that. If I could use that gift card towards the purchase, then cool, but nope.
