We are going to have a hard time moving the ball, I agree. If we can play a smart, disciplined game without turning the ball over and giving Alabama great field position to start with then we have an outside shot IMO. While our defense isn't spectacular, it does have its moments and Alabama isn't going to score at will. Obviously if we start turning the ball over and our special teams suck then it's going to be hard to win. Also, not having a reliable FG kicker will kill you against a team like Bama (and LSU as we saw last month). I'm not going to call the upset but I think it will be a reasonably close game just as A&M/LSU and A&M/UF.

The thing that really concerns me in this game is A&M trying to play high-tempo backfiring on them. High tempo offense when you're moving the ball tires out the other team's defense. High tempo offense when you can't move the ball tires out your own defense.

Our strength and conditioning this year (thanks to Larry Jackson) is 100x better than it was in years past and we have yet to play a team who is better conditioned then we are. That being said, if we can't move the ball and our defense has to stay out there constantly then that is definitely a recipe for disaster. I don't think they are going to be able to run for 5 yards on us every down like everyone keeps thinking though. Our run defense is pretty strong.

I think our defense is pretty solid actually. It's our offense that has struggled later in games, not surprising given the level of competition and Manziel is a freshman. A&M has improved each week and their ability to jump on teams, even good ones, could be enough.

I don't think the gap in the trenches is as big as some say.

I experienced something you will never experience. I watched the team I have followed since I was 8 years old win a national championship. I was a fan back in 1983 when we lost to Georgia. I was a fan back when the wheels fell off the program back in 1984. I was a fan and had to endure losing to Miami back in 1990 cotton bowl. I endured McWilliams, Machovic and Mack having blowout losses to OU.

Fact is it was all worth it see us win the MNC. You can say what you want, but Mack is a better coach than anything you have ever had at Tech and if he were at Tech win or lose he would be a legend just like he is at Texas. When your school wins something, anything then you can judge Mack but until then you don't know what you are talking about.

He needs to be replaced, there is no doubt about it, but he goes out with dignity and respect he has earned.

We are going to have a hard time moving the ball, I agree. If we can play a smart, disciplined game without turning the ball over and giving Alabama great field position to start with then we have an outside shot UNI. While our defense isn't spectacular, it does have its moments and Alabama isn't going to score at will. Obviously if we start turning the ball over and our special teams suck then it's going to be hard to win. Also, not having a reliable FG kicker will kill you against a team like Bama (and LSU as we saw last month). I'm not going to call the upset but I think it will be a reasonably close game just as A&M/LSU and A&M/UF.
