Ya, manu has been so sloppy with passing lately. Most of them seem to be passing off-balance. He seems to be trying to force it and do to much, and needs just to make a
clean pass.

Oh I forgot to add:
Fail #4, Why in the hell was Parker jacking up bricks and allowing Manu to create turnovers when he's still not 100% to contribute?
Richie
11-15-2012, 10:55 PM
Manu shot 4/8 tonight and looked good driving to the basket. Offensive liability my ass. Maybe he was against the Lakers, but not tonight.
It's not his fault Tony turned into a ball-hog in the fourth quarter.
Big turnovers at important times and 1-5 from 3, mostly open shots. He was poor.
Budkin
11-15-2012, 10:55 PM
We played shitty in the Lakers game and won. Can't do that two games in a row and win. Game is 48 minutes.

remind me the ages of the big 3 back then?
There was no Big Three back then.
Tony was a little baby and Manu was like 25. Neither were huge contributors that season (especially Manu).
Timmy was Superman back then, though.

The Spurs started the season 6-4 in 2002-2003.................
True but look what we had in 2003.
A young thug in Jackson.
A real defense.
A superstar stopper in Bruce Bowen. I'd love to see him (in his prime) defending Durant. Durant would have no chance in hell.
A younger and more athletic big three.
Speedy Claxton to take control.
Tony looked like Westbrook out there in the 4th.. That would be one of his worst quarters ever.
Manu was really bad too, he just looks so slow..

I agree. He's not an offensive liability, though. I have faith that he'll come through eventually.
Manu always turns the ball over more than we'd like, but he has been especially bad this season. He has to start hitting threes, though. That has become a huge part of his game as he's grown older.

Jason Kidd is a monster on that team. When Amare comes back look out. Spurs need to do something with Bonner.

The irony that the Spurs starting sucking ass the minute Splitter left the game is almost incomprehensible enough to make my head explode. Give the Knicks credit for knocking down big shots, but the Spurs choked big time in this one.

After taking a deep breath ........ this game should be a good learning tool. You can't go into coast mode with time still left on the clock. Duncan needs touches when he's playing this well. Just have to play smarter in the fourth.
And props to the Knicks. They played a damn good game.

Obviously im really pissed off right now at the spurs choke job but it's not like they cant get better they were playing awesome D and had a 12 point lead over one of the tops teams in the league right now and just shat the bed still wont change the fact im pissed off right now but this game may help the spurs more than it would if they had won playing like shit again.

Fail #1, why in the hell would you keep firing three point attempts when you're not making them during the game?
Fail #2, why in the hell did Popovich bring the starters out when the bench produced the double digit lead?
Fail #3, why in the hell do you allow the opponent to continuously shoot three pointers, and allow them to make them?
I was thinking all of these during the game

I hate Kidd, that fuck always scores on us no matter what team he is on. Fucking alien
You are right that OLD FUCK does, in Dallas he would hit sime timely shots against us as well. NJ well we won the finals over his team, ever since then I think he has been gifted some back for that and GOD gave him some skill to be able to hit shots on the Spurs. I hate playing against him.

This team should be past the moral victories and learned lessons tbh. They pride themselves on veteran leadership, yet thier veterans are the one's that blew the game in the 4th.
And props to the Knicks. They played a damn good game.

This is the worst and slowest I have ever seen Manu play. I hope it's all from ailing injuries more then his game falling off a cliff. He is at that age when it happens however....

we all seen this from the last 2 seasons in the playoffs, when duncan is in hot mode, he gets subbed, only to return in the 2nd half with 2 shot attempts setup for him...its fkn pathetic hero ball thats costing us games....give the ball to the hot hand, not the hand that thinks he can fkn shoot

The only problem is that said player 'can't' shoot. If Tony's drives aren't working for him, then he starts taking jumpshots. When he starts taking jumpshots, you know the Spurs will lose.

It's games like this that show you why we haven't won shit since '07. Duncan exiting his prime and letting Parker/Ginobili become the first option on offense isn't going to win you a championship.

Kidd amps up the Knicks BBIQ exponentially and it showed tonight.
They passed the ball beautifully while Tony & Manu held it way too long.

Does a team with this much experience really need to learn that lesson? If so, that is troubling..
To me the "TP is gassed" is the concerning part. Why would he be gassed when he himself says he's still young and can handle more minutes? Faton did not seem gassed and played around the same minutes..

Other than that 7 minutes at the end of the game, the performance was fine. They made shots at a ridiculous rate early and then the D in the 2nd and 3rd was good, and Splitter finishing well was good. Obviously the final stretch was horrible, with Parker being a ball hog in that period, and Manu is clearly off. Sad to lose, and a really bad finish where the offense went to shit, but there are positive elements to take out.

If I told you the Spurs were going to play the Knicks, and one team was going to have their shooting guard putting up ill-advised shots and making bad turnovers in crunch time, and their best player was going to shoot the ball too much and cost his team the win you'd think the Spurs would be the team to win.

In every game there are positives. It's not panic to say a team with the other team's superstar neutered, at home, with a double digit lead in the 4th should win. It's a really, really bad loss when you saw how the game was playing out. Fourth quarter let downs from your stars at home are alarming no matter how you slice it. Especially when one of your stars looks really damn iffy physically and has an injury history.

In fairness to the Spurs, we played great D tonight. It's just that that Knicks where shooting the lights out on the last 4 minutes while we are are throwing bricks. Kidd shooting the ball 2 feet from the line is insane. It's their night, but Pop should know better.:nope

TP is not a superstar. He'S ONLY GOOD FOR REGULAR SEASONS. He disappears during playoffs. He can be guarded, unlike the real superstars. SA need a superstar who can carry the team during Playoffs, else it'll be the same story again.

Well, things don't get much easier from here. Next two games, at home, against matchup nightmares in Denver and LA Clips. If Pop said the team is tired, shut everybody down cause they're gonna need all the rest to run and keep up with these young/athletic squads.

Truth is we probably played better then in any of our wins thus far, the level of intensity on D was good overall if anything Pop scheme of doubling Melo and giving space to their 3 point shooters was at fault but individually it was good overall, SJax is money when it comes to defend elite PFs, makes me want to see him on Griffin tbh, the offense looked much improved. TP and Manu will get into better shape but I was pretty pleased with what I saw.
That said the second unit should be better than what they show, other than Sjax they are pretty underwheming, Patty can't run a decent play and Manu is not in shape or healthy enough at this point.
