Tim Duncan B+
Impressive through three quarters on both ends. Silent in the final period.
Manu Ginobili C
Timing is a mess. Outside shot is broken. Good moments here and there but consistency needed.
Tony Parker B-
Quiet in the first quarter. Really good in the middle two quarters. Keyed the collapse down the stretch.
Kawhi Leonard A-
Looked like a stud offensively early on. Brought really good defense in the second half.
Danny Green C+
Wasn’t attentive enough defensively. Didn’t do anything special on the other side of the court.
DeJuan Blair B-
Surprisingly good defense on Carmelo Anthony early. Didn’t play in the second half. Injured?
Stephen Jackson B+
Great rebounding and grit in the paint. More precision on offense would have helped.
Patrick Mills C-
Defense was subpar. Didn’t run the offense very well. Was basically a spot-up shooter.
Tiago Splitter B
His first couple stints were horrid. In the fourth, he rediscovered his rhythm and dominated a stretch.
Boris Diaw D-
I’m not sure it would have been possible for Diaw to give less effort.
Pop D
Didn’t manage minutes well. Rotations didn’t make much sense.
Thanks. Good read. The team was missing Neal's shotmaking throughout the course of this game IMHO.
Quick question: Tony gets a B- after being completely outplayed by Felton?

I have been obsessed with Manu since his rookie year, but I'd give him a D for this game. He threw so many careless passes and forced up some awful 3's in that fourth quarter that begged the Knicks to knock out the Spurs.
I'm sure he'll get better as his health improves, but I never thought a day would come where I'd feel that Manu should have been on the bench in crunch time. :(

if pop knew this team was going to throw away the game, he shouldve just closed it down in the first quarter and played the rookies for experience....
This is like judging the grains of sand as the fall through the hourglass. Oh that one stalled a bit, could be a sign, look that one really made an impact, looks positive. When it's said and done you have the same amount of sand in the same amount of time and you won't get more or less. You flip it and start again.

I think Kawhi could've done more in the second half offensively if Parker didn't get selfish per par and shoot up so much shit. B-....:rolleyes

TP, while not aggressive in the first half, still played under control and got others involved. He then had a ridiculously solid 2nd and 3rd both scoring and distributing. His 0 TO's is a major plus. Yes he melted down in the fourth, but that doesn't erase the rest of his game from a grading perspective hence the B-. If he has just a decent fourth and the Spurs win, he get's an A+ this game.

Raymond Felton B-
Sure, he put up good numbers, but he was playing against a :cry sick and tired :cry PG who's not making excuses. Needs to lose weight.

was anyone pissed at our bigs for not attempting to block alot of those weak ass layups/floaters when there pgs got into the lane puttin up a shot right in front of them, even the defender was late to contend, at leasts put a fkn hand up....

Norris Cole, after playing the entire second half because the normal guy is injured, delivering a big fourth quarter shot.

what are ur thoughts on the last 3 games if their was no bailout from mills/green, this team is just hanging around stealing wins late in games....
they havnt shown us anything yet compared to last season how they were dominant from the tippoff....
protecting leads and bullshit 3rd quarter lineups continue to plague this team

Thanks Timvp. Good fight from the team, can't win them all.
Tiago has been looking good lately, I am hoping for a non-Bonner like meltdown in the second half, though it is much too soon to be saying anything about the second half tbh.
Kawhi had a nice game too.
Also glad to see the East may not be a cake walk for the Heat tbh. Time will tell.

I find myself cringing when Manu even touches the ball when he's having an off-day. C'mon Manu!

Raymond Felton B-
Sure, he put up good numbers, but he was playing against a :cry sick and tired :cry PG who's not making excuses. Needs to lose weight.
He is one of THE fattest pg's i've ever seen. point guards are generally the most lean players on the team

Parker was overplayed by Felton. Felton was attacking him aggressively on offense which caused TP to expend some of that energy. Statisitically Per 36 mins, while Felton was on the court, Parker simply had his hands full. One could make an excuse that he was physically recuperating from a bout with stomach flu on the fly, but still, he made Felton look like CP3 vs the Spurs circa 2008 playoffs.

Baron Davis and Dwayne Pearl Washington say Hi! Their weight issues were problematic with Davis accomplishing more but when they were drafted, both players were thought to be solid lead point guards.
Most PG's are lean and fairly quick. Felton is unusually fast for being such a stocky PG.

Is there more volume chuckers in the league or is that perception wrong? There seems to be endless games where shot selection and volume of shots by some guys seem to be descending into madness. It's hurting my eyes.

Something just seems a bit off with this team right now. They play an awesome "Spurs-like" quarter of basketball, and then the next quarter guys look out of place on offense, careless passes are being thrown all over the place, guys missing a rotation. The one thing that bugs me right now is that Manu looks COMPLETELY off. He looks like he's playing too damn fast out there and he just needs to tone it down a bit. His passing, his shot, everything just looks off...

I'm glad to see Kawhi was given a high grade. To my eyes he was almost like a mini-force on defense, pulling down big rebounds, disrupting passing lanes, and I think it was partly his defense which helped spark Splitter's run that got us the lead. If, and a big if obviously but going by his rookie season I don't think I'm too far out on a limb here, if Kawhi got his sophomore slump out of the way in the preseason and first couple games (where he kinda sucked), and games like this and the last few are an indication that he's starting to get locked in, I think he could end up having a monster season. Like MIP kinda season. If it takes Manu a while still to regain his shot and overall rhythm, Kawhi will probably continue to get leaned on for minutes like he was tonight. I've already forgotten this game, just looking forward to watching this kid's progress.

Once again we go into the fourth quarter and who was playing PF ? I think it was either Kawhi or SJ.......bullshit how are we going to win any playoff games playing such a small lineup. Pop gave this game to the Knicks the worst coaching I have seen from Pop

apparently not everyone can handle the truth, when it comes to tony parker and his fan....
on nights he plays like a top5 pg, then there are nights he thinks his kobe/mike/westbrick...thats pretty good if you as me where his ceiling is at

Felton pressured Tony so much that Tony didn't even commit one turnover... give me a break.
The reality of it is that the Spurs aren't going to go anywhere with such an abysmal 3pt shooting performance. In the end something has to step up and score a bucket, and it can't always be Tony.

Parker grade is generous. He flat out got raped by felton and single handedly gave the knicks the game with his gunning and reckless play down the stretch. Diaw is a fat F ditto Ginobilli

All this. Plus Splitter was weak as fking tissue paper. Dunk that sh-t homes!
Weak D all around, esp on the perimeter. Just like the playoffs last year. And Bruce Bowen is not walking through that door...
Maybe I won't go back and watch this game on my DVR.

I thought Stephen Jackson's defense, along with his willingness to give max effort in playing stout defense in the paint, were huge factors in limiting Carmelo's offensive output.
Overall the team did appear as though it faded in the 4th.

We gave that one away no doubt. I got so tired of fat fuck felton and his luck chucks that never miss. He has one of the ugliest games in history.
