I find these two players very similar. Could it be Kawhi is on the same level as MKG but is just not as recognized because of the hype surrounding MKG? Or is MKG just plain better? If he is, why?

yeah, they're similar.. They're upside really is limitless unlike pretty much any other young player in the nba, it goes down to development. They are basically the only young players that can really play on both ends of the floor..

Although both are still very raw considering their potential (MKG moreso) Kidd-Gilchrist is more gifted physically and athletically.. kawhi seems to be more developed at this point, esp. with his shot and perimeter defense.

leonard is just lucky to be playing with the big 3
if he was on the bobcats he would be putting up worse stats then mkg
his shot would still be broken and he would be doing the 1v5 we all dont want to see him doing in preseason and start of the reg season

Spurfan especially on ST gets giddy over rookies who don't totally go tits up. We tend to overestimate their abilities because they are often embedded with some of the best teamwork guys in the league, and that makes the rookies appear to be much more effective than they would be otherwise. We did it with Blair, and look at him now that the trainers have "fixed" his positioning. He doesn't foul out, but he doesn't get double digit boards. In fact, he doesn't get many minutes.

We are all looking for the next Manu or Tony, but we aren't going to see another 57th overall become like Manu in our lifetimes, no in SA. Even the 1st overall guys don't do that well. Those days are over it seems until some TD or Shaq like freak comes out of college.

most of the players outside of the big 3 are nothing more than 1 dimensional players specialize in certain skill points the roster is lacking, it continues to find the missing pieces to the puzzle, but when it comes to trading them...they are hard to get rid of cause they are 1 dimensional players

But we got rid of RJ and that's all that matters. It's interesting again.

The big 3 are helping Kawhi's offense, but he's not getting the hype like MKG because MKG's talent shines a lot more due to the bobcat's terrible roster.

Honestly Leonard gets a lot of recognition from other fanbases. People are talking more about the rookies of this season overall, which is normal. Everyone knows that Leonard is a stud already. Now they want to know who are the studs from this draft class and who are the biggest busts.

So far, Davis, MKG, Lillard and Drummond all look good. The biggest disappointment is probably Rivers.
