06 finals, not only because that was our first NBA title in franchise history but also that it had haunted the dallas grumblers for many years until they got compensated one in 11

2010 Finals. Couldn't ask for a sweeter win. Vs the Celtics that beat us 2 years ago, in a game 7, coming down to the final possessions.

^ especially when you would later realize that marked the end of an era, they haven't gone nowhere further than the 2nd round since then

1989 Finals. The first one is always special.
2004 second round against the Nets. Back and fourth series, gut wrenching loss in game 5 in triple OT at home with pretty much everyone fouling out, going down 3-2 in the series with a must-win road game 6, then trucking the Nets in game 7 while holding Jason Kidd scoreless. Pretty ugly series in terms of play but epic in how things transpired.

Nothing really stands out. The Suns have yet to win a series they had no business winning. All of their major playoff series wins were against teams they were supposed to beat.

2005 finals were pretty damn nerve-wracking. 3 or 4 huge momentum swings in the series, and then it came down to the final game.
Overall, the sweetest spurs playoff victory, although it was hard to feel spiteful toward the Pistons given how they were the spurs of the eastern conference, playing some hard-nosed, defensive classball.
But as for spiting the opponent, 2003 against the Lakers was the pinnacle.

2007 ECF against Detroit
1992 ECSF against Boston when the Cavaliers ended Larry Bird's career. 42 assists in Game 7, probably the best-played big game in the history of this woebegone franchise.
Not much to choose from, tbh.

Either the 1977 WCF when we swept the Lakers or the 77 Finals when we beat the star-studded Sixers.

Non-Finals, has to be 2003 Lakers. Second place? Probably 2007 Suns for the eternal butthurt it caused, or 2005 Suns due to entertainment value.
Special shout out to 2005 Sonics. Can't really go wrong with this series of events: 1) Sonic Fan celebrates in the stands and saves loudest ovation of the series for when Duncan hurts his ankle in Game 6 2) Duncan is able to return to the game 3) Spurs win Game 6 to clinch the series 4) Emo Sonic Fan never witnesses another playoff game again 5) Sonics move to OKC. 6) S:lolnics

Round 1 against the Grizz last year (not that I have too many options to pick from as a Clipperfan)... still though, it's tough to top a series in which your team has the greatest comeback win in NBA playoff history in Game 1, and your bench wins a Game 7 on the road...
:lol Redneck Grizzlies fans: "See You Sunday!"

2003 - Detroit over Orlando: Tayshaun Prince's coming out party. Stopping the McGrady one-man show.
2004 - Detroit over Indiana: A masterful series with some of the best defense ever played by 2 teams in a series. This was the de facto 2004 NBA Finals.

Honorable mention to that diaper stain, Jerome James.
If we're talking all-time I'd go with the 2003 finals. The Admiral sails off into the sunset with a ring, the asterisk talk gets quieted, as a fan looking at that roster there was the nostalgic feeling of an end of an era coupled with some real excitement about the potential of the team going forward. That does feel a little like cheating since almost none of that has to do with the actual opponent or the basketball played. In that regard I'd probably go with the win over the 2005 Suns. The games were quite watchable, generally competitive, and decided by the Spurs shining through with lockdown D and superior team play down the stretch. I'm pretty much over the media's indifference to the Spurs now but back then it was really nice to see the "boring" Spurs stick it to the team the media had been nut riding for much of the season.

Ooooh, that 99 series against the Blazers should be in the mix as well. MDM, subsequent sweep of a team with more talented roster - real corner turner for the Spurs as a franchise.

Unfortunately, I don't have any Finals victories to choose from.
2010 WCSF against the Spurs is probably my favorite. Even though we swept them, the series was very competitive. Nash taking over a tight 4th quarter with only one eye was amazing.
Goran Dragic's 23-point 4th quarter explosion in Game 3 is probably one of the most amazing things I've ever seen, in and outside of sports.

I'll have the 2001 WCF, please.This.The most dominating performance by far for Mr. Kobe Bryant as he punked the entire Spurs front court. Shitting on Duncan and Robinson often. It was one of the most dominating performances by any player to ever play the game. It featured the famous photo of Timmie sitting on the bench with his head down crying while Pop is consoling him, patting him on the back saying its ok Timmie, they're just too good!
