View Full Version : I don't normally blame TP for losses...

What happened to this guy? Destroyed again today by CP3... and I mean, CP3 is good, but that was not even a contest... is it the flu? Is he still out of shape?

Parker has been struggling like crazy to score this entire season. Shots that are usually automatic have been consistent bricks. Don't get wtf is wrong with this guy if it weren't for Duncan playing at such an elite level we would have at least 5 more losses than we currently do.

At least he was in for the last play tonight.

Ugh...I'm with you. Usually I'll give TP a pass but 11 points is just...not acceptable when we're missing players.

Bonner made a bigger impact in the 4th quarter than Parker did. That sentence speaks for itself as far as Parker's performance.

Well as bad as TP has been, Manu has been worse. Averages about the same shooting %, except he is scoring less points, less assists and more turn overs. There's the issue. TP is wearing down without quality help from Manu.

Manu is obviously old and on the decline... the fact that they would seemingly be comparable would be alarming in itself...

Hopefully Hollinger wasn't a year too early...

Parker had a lot of gimme's that should have went in

This is a thread to discuss Tony Parker's struggles, tbh.

^ I know - TP's struggles are partly due to the fact Manu is turning the ball over a lot and shooting poorly and blowing big leads despite playing against scrubs like Matt Barnes.

And you really can't compare a guy still setting career highs and scoring 40% more points than another guy...Not trying to say that. Saying TP is having an off year and still setting career highs and putting up 40% more points than Manu.

Manu is coming off a back injury. Parker has been healthy since his club brawl early in the summer.

I don't see how can that influence on TP not having a reliable NBA jumper but I respect your opinion, tbh.

What does it mean "TP is having an off year"? He factually put less numbers than Manu tonight.

CoM whines for years that Parker doesn't pass enough. TP puts up career-high in assists while simultaneously posting a career-low in turnovers. Now CoM whines he's not scoring enough.

Got it.

I'm in the bads with you until you accept that starting/playing Blair is a bad idea.

tbh, even if Parker lost his eye, his court vision would probably be the same.

Blair starting is about the least pressing of the Spurs weaknesses, tbh.

tbh, CoM accepts that Manu is on the decline, and cannot keep on bailing out Tony for much longer, thus the "passing the ball" issue hasn't been there for a while.

However, when the team keys were passed to Capt Parker, the expectation was that he'll take control of the team, and deliver. Unfortunately, that has not happened. Perhaps it's the :cry flu :cry.

Tony Parker C- Just not enough production. He has to do more when things are circling the drain. Are you playing devil's advocate or something?

don't know what the OP is talking about, Tony had to dance with CP3 all night... plus it's only November, and there's no point in Tony going all out right now... patience, kids.

But it is the easiest weakness to solve. The Spurs are better when Diaw is the starter alongside Duncan and Splitter and Bonner come off the bench, at least on the regular season. During the POs Bonner turns to shit but Blair remains shit, so playing him as a starter all season long isn't the answer.

Only temporary we're clearly trying to showcase him to get his ass traded but he keeps playing like shit and drawing down his value.

another blair hater.... explain how the spurs had the best records 2 years in a row with blair as a starter but flame out in the playoffs with diaw & splitter .... blair = toughness needed in playoffs .... splitter diaw bonner = softness that gets exposed ....

They got it despite him, last season the team really started to look like a championship team when Blair went from starter to bench warmer.

Blair is just too short, dumb and useless on defense to be a rotation player on a contender.

Chris Paul isn't injured like he was in the playoffs.

/thread

Starting 5 of the Clippers +/-

Paul -4
Green -7
Jordan -1
Griffin -3
Butler -8

Starting 5 of the Spurs +/-

Parker +5
Green -4
Jackson +8
Blair +5
Duncan +1

Then
Barnes +19
Crawford +13
Odom +8
Hollins +8

Diaw -18
De Colo -12
Mills -7

The Spurs didn't lose because of Chris Paul, they lost this game because the Spurs bench sucks.

No, hero ball would be 33 points on 33 FGAs (and 15 FTAs).
