Tbh, Gibbons isn't a bad manager at all, he was just one of the many scapegoats for Ricciardi's idiocy last time around tbh...

He had the Jays playing well above their talent level during his first stint in Toronto, I think he'll do a fine job with the talent he has now...

They should have gone with Francona. That would have been sweet and a slap to the face for Red Sox.

I wondered if they even considered him. Could could possibly drive that team to a world series, easy with the current talent.

John Gibbons is from San Antonio. He played baseball in the Perrin Beitel baseball league as a kid in the mid 1970s. He is friends with Ricciardi who he played in the minors with.
