Should be D'Antoni's debut coaching the game, predictions on D-Willl's Score? I say he goes for 40 today

I'm actually intrigued by the Lopez Howard battle. Lopez is freakishly tall with a soft touch in the post so we'll see how many points he'll score. I'm thinking around 20. Two things for Brooklyn to win. 1 Johnson has to be efficient and not have a brick house battle with Kobe 2. The Nets bench has to remain within single digits, Nets have one of the worst bench combos in the league offensively.

Morg1411
11-20-2012, 10:27 PM
Blatche has been beasting it off the bench. Rooting for the Nets, but I fully expect Johnson to go 1-for-15.

Nets playing pretty well. If Blatche can give them some legit consistent scoring off the bench they will be good. Wallace adds a great dimension to this team when healthy too. Deron/JoJo/Gerald is a huge 1-3 combo capable of some pretty good versatile things on both ends.

Lopez top 3 center offensively tbh.

Nice. I was afraid Brooklyn would get blasted out of the building, but they're holding their own so far. They've been miserable in the 3rd quarter pretty much every game this season, though, so we'll see if they can keep pace with the L.A. Pringles.

So are like the Lakers ever going to play on the road? I think they've actually had more home games than there has been NBA games.

That said, not impressed with the D'Antoni led Lakers. Once Artest cools off from 3 (which is inevitable) and the Lakers actually go on the road (when it happens two months from now), they'll come back down to earth and the Laker fan produced category 10 Jizz Hurricane going on right now will be nothing but memory.

Good win, I guess.

their schedule is like that practically every year especially with the Grammy's being held in L.A. .... so they usually have a heavy home start, heavy middle road and heavy end at home. At the end of the day, it's 41 at home and 41 on the road.

Oh yeah. I'm fully aware of that. A tactic by the NBA to get their flagship franchise off to a good start and build some momentum toward the road trips. Much easier to go on the road with a good/great record than it is an average one.

If you've been to a Clippers/Lakers game where the Lakers are on the road team, you can honestly say, it's no longer home court. Hell if that's the case, the Spurs being in the middle of the country have a definitely advantage when it comes to road travel.

To be fair, Brooklyn locked you down, as well. But the main the reason both teams scored low in the second half was all the freethrows being called (most which came by way of Hack-a-Chimp), slowing the pace of the game down.

Yeah, they were talking about that on the Laker boards too. Interesting to see that D-Will shot 6-18 against the likes of Morris and Duhon. He should have dominated those two easily. Now I know, when Nash gets back he won't be able to guard D-Will either. But at least Nash will be more of an offensive threat. This will be key because most PGs have the night off defensively which gives them the opp to go full bore offensively.

Missed the game, but the fact is they held the Nets to 42% shooting which is a big plus for a D'Antoni-coached team. I see that Kobe, Pau, and D12 went 23/41 FGAs. Especially with Nash, I expect them to carry us offensively. Thing is, will they be able to play enough defense for the Lakers to advance deep in the playoffs? I'm in the "show me" mode right now, tbh. Although this was a good start.

i think if the refs wanted the Lakers to win, they would be on title number four in a row or the Mavs wouldn't have won their lone title. I mean there were a few calls that went against Darius Morris against Deron Williams that weren't brought up. Hell, I'll be the first to say a few of those calls for the Lakers were chicken bleep.

And flopping does help win games. Manu and Parker go into the lane and fall like hoes on their backs and get free points. That's an advantage. Hope they ordered extra checks for when those fines come rollin' in.

Watching the Lakers this season will a) increase Pringles sales across the board. b) increase the incessant whining by non-Laker fans all over the board and c) more paint needed to touch-up the rims after the putrid freethrow performance by DHoward and the likes. 5-1 on this homestand with the loss coming by 2 to the Spurs--better than the 1-4 start but still not where the team needs to be. Will be interesting to see the team with all of its parts together.
