Manu is having by far his worst statistical year since his rookie season. His .381 FG% reflect his struggles.
Saying that, there are reasons to be hopeful it won't last. Earlier this year, Manu was just bad, now he is very inconsistent. There are games or stints during a game where he is playing at a great level and other where he sucks. Once Manu gets more consistent, he will be damn fine.

He flat out carried us for stretches both the Pacers game and this game against Toronto... we don't win either without his plays on the 2nd half... he's just been pretty bad on the 1st half... kinda the opposite of Tony, tbh

Manu has always been the designated closer for the last few years because his shots were reliable, his ball handling was good, and his FT % in the clutch was fantastic. I hope he will come back to that level as the season goes on.

Good points.
I have no worries regarding Manu. He's fine. As long as he stays healthy, it's just a matter of time before he's putting up similar stats to last season.
I've said it elsewhere but I was more worried about Manu a couple years ago when he was coming off of those ankle/leg/foot injuries. Back then he wasn't driving to the hoop and was hobbling around. Right now he's driving to the hoop fine and would already almost be all the way back if he could shoot three-pointers straight.

I'm glad Nando is getting some minutes but he seems pretty redundant when teamed with Manu. Guess we'll just wait or the next Manu injury.

His driving game will look much much better once the 3's start dropping as well.
He needs to move the ball quicker on offense though...

He's just trying to shoot his way out of his shooting slump...mark my words his 3 pointers will start to drop and help open up the rest of his game, im not worried at all tbh just a couple months ago he was lighting up guys in the Olympics..he came in second in points scored in the entire Olympics right behind the stud Durant
Manu's 3 pointer isn't falling although he's starting to finish well.

And SEVEN rebounds and FIVE assists (the same assist total as our supposed point guard Parker).
If he could actually start to hit some jump shots, he'd be set. He's been aggressive and looked good driving to the hoop over the last few games. Now, we just need his trey to start falling and he'll be as good as he's ever been.

he basically won the pacers game with the 2 and-1's IMHO. Couldn't have come at a better time. the 3 tonight to tie it up (at 96 all?) was pretty crucial against the raps.

That's exactly what I thought.
Plus a 3 and 4 clutch FTs. Ask Neal about those.....

The feed I watched had Monaco and Marks just orgasming as Manu had a short stretch in the 2nd half when he didn't suck, giving him heaps of praise for basically, well, not sucking. That's definitely a new intangible to add to Manu's list: make expectations so low that just anything positive will be seen as the second coming...

Just come out and say it. You don't like Manu. You get off on Manu not playing to his usual level.
Manu lifted when no-one else could score just like he did the pacers game. This fan calls it, not sucking. I mean, i would attribute this post to Matt Bonner's game but Manu. LOL. Must of been distracting for you to watch when they were praising.
It's the same so called Spurs fans, over and over again. Seriously, you all a bunch of bitches.

I love Manu.
What I don't love is how most of the people here are infatuated with him to the point that anything he does is considered a miracle of sorts. But I understand that Manu playing in SA would be like Tony playing in Montreal, fans instantly turn into brainless zombies whenever his name is mentioned.

Seriously - excluding Manu's 3 point shot, which is undoubtedly awful right now, he's not doing that bad at all, I'd say his defense has even improved and the only reason why he hasn't had as many touches with the 2nd unit is because Pop is still giving a chance to De Colo and Mills to earn the back-up PG spot, which neither of them will play during the playoffs anyway. In the first stint against the Raptors De Colo had the ball in his hands and Manu was relegated to a spot-up shooter, instead of running things as usually.
In fact I don't see how the 2nd unit will work with both Manu and De Colo if De Colo somehow happens to get the back-up PG spot. Manu, paired with Neal or Mills, is a much more well rounded pairing. That is unless De Colo discovers the J someday.
