Time to trade Pau!

http://lakeshowlife.com/2012/11/24/mike-dantoni-already-struggling-with-laker-bigs/

Gasol keeps getting pushed further and further away from the hoop (http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/story/_/id/8667785/los-angeles-lakers-pau-gasol-wants-more-touches-post)and his dipping field goal percentage is proof. So confused with how to use Pau was D’Antoni that during last night’s loss in Memphis that he opted to go with Antawn Jamison for the crucial fourth quarter over Gasol.
Even more alarming has been the complete disappearance of Dwight Howard. Howard has failed to even crack double figures in points or field goal attempts in consecutive games.
Again…that cannot EVER happen.
Howard is a force in the paint with an All-Star pedigree. Under no circumstance will the Lakers EVER be in a position to win with Howard only getting token touches.

But most recently, it was his brand new coach, Mike D’Antoni, who was taking shots at Gasol.

Why did D'Antoni sit Pau down the stretch? "I was thinking I'd like to win this game, that's what I was thinking."

In a game in which Gasol played the fewest minutes of any starter, scored six points on 3-of-8 shooting with four rebounds and had a team-worst -23, the Lakers fell to the Memphis Grizzlies 106-98.

If it wasn’t the first time Gasol has been called out by a Lakers coach, this would be no big deal. But it wasn’t.
And with the Lakers season tilting back and forth faster than two even sized kids on a seesaw, it might be time to trade the 11-year veteran. :blah

Pop would have said the same thing Mike said when asked "what were you thinking?". Mike knows how to use bigs, he just started on a team that has this really lopsided talent/chemistry thing. He needs his own Alonzo Mourning in the locker room.

dude doesn't need no bigs in his system, he could play marion & diaw in the paint and still managed to finish atop the west come the end of season, such a team ain't winning shit in the playoffs tho

They were close to win it all in 2007, tbh.

Imagine the jizzstorm we would've seen if the Lakers had lost to the Bobcats.

Fair enough. But I bet there were dozens of posters poised to submit a new "LOL Lakers" thread or whatever, with fingers hovering over mouse buttons waiting for the Bobcats to pull out the win.

Pau is a terrible, terrible fit for D'Antoni's system. Negatively affects the offense and doesn't really improve the defense (since all opposing teams have to do is check in a stretch 4 and take him away from the lane). Not surprised that the Lakers stuttered offensively last night (A measly 101 points against a team that's routinely been allowing 110+). And no, it has nothing to do with him being injured. He simply doesn't fit.

As a Laker hater, I hope he stays. Only barrier keeping the Lakers from contending is their lack of youth and a dependable stretch 4 that isn't a senior citizen. They definitely could get some nice pieces for the Spaniard from some dipshit GM willing to trade away his young core for a vet with "championship experience."

Nope.

Pau/Dwight = great fit in the triangle or a grind-it-out Mike Brown style, but a lousy combination in D'Antoni's system.

75% chance Pau is traded. Or Pau is reduced to a bench role as Dwight's backup (which could be kind of scary, actually).

Pau traded for Kevin Love. :lmao

Except Pringles prefers 6'7" SF/PFs a lot.
