Even when he struggles, like tonight, he still comes up big when you need him to. That 3 pointer to finally tie the game and send it to overtime was amazing. Then the defense in OT... :wow

What a guy.

I trust those gypsy hands to make a steal or shoot a ball in crunch time, regardless of how bad he's been playing.

Because he wasn't helping to destroy us up until that point.

I cringed every time he touched the ball... "Quit passing to the stands goddamnit!"

I love Manu to the death on defense, but not so much on offense and that 3-pointer. Just before that, he missed 2 fts and one 3-pointer off the tip-rebound from Tim. And overall tonight he is 1-7 for 3 pointers. That's a KB-like game, when you shoot and shoot, it finally goes in a couple.

We, non-Lakers fans, often laugh at KB for being hyped as this kind of hero. The same standard needs to apply to Manu for that 3-pointer. It's a great shot by itself, but when we recap this game, we can give Manu A++ for defense and all-over-the-court hustle, but it's better to not mention his offense.

Yes he does have the knack for horrible plays the last few years, some of his passes make no sense to me at all and it does make me cringe. I still have love for Manu and very big shot tonight and Good D late, but seriously he just made up for those boneheaded cot damn passes he makes.

It took a heroic turn-back-the clock effort from the Spurs dynamic duo of TD and Parker to save us from another Manu fuckup.

manu did just enough to make up for his mistakes. In his defense, he did set up a lot of threes that didnt fall.

at the very least he played hard at SF

He'll need to be better come playoff time. His D was excellent but damn he couldn't buy a shot.

Came up clutch with big defensive plays and the 3. We need more from him though.

I am not a hater I am a huge fan of Manu! His reckless damn passes to the crowd though must slow down some, he is too reckless at times with the ball. He came up big later and I appreciate that, but in reality TIM saved the day with his game if you want to be honest! Once again TIM DOES it with his huge game! PERIOD.
MANU IS GODNO Jordan is GOD, Duncan is Jesus and Manu is well........ HE IS MANU GINOBILI (POP).

Before the 4th quarter I believe Neal and Green were a combined 1-15 or something from the field. Manu's FG% was godly compared to our other guards. Plus he hit the big 3. I'll take a clutch shot any day after a bad game. Just ask fuckin Derek Fisher with his 2-9 statline with one stupid ass corner 3 pointer to break the other team's back

DMC

I wouldn't say Manu saved the day. It's more like he stopped fucking up the day and became Manu again. On defense he was phenomenal. Guy was everywhere. Tim and Tony went into Asian mode on offense.

some people here overreacting, tbh... the previous two games he's been nothing short of phenomenal and only had 1 turnover on each. Sure, tonight was ugly for some stretches, but dude contributed in other ways to the win.

Manu = shooting GAWD. Idgaf how many mistakes he makes, he always makes up for them & then some. That was clearly a foul @ the end on Rudy Gay but if it wasn't for that competitiveness, then who knows how the game might have ended tonight...

It's funny when ElNono trolls around, but you mister are not funny. I like the Manu of old, but this pale imitation of Kobme, not so much. Why did they give him that last possession of regulation time?

According to JRHernandez88, shooting 1 out of 7 from three and 4 out of 15 overall makes someone a "shooting GAWD". If that's the case, then Gary Neal's also a "Shooting GAWD" for going 4 of 16 from the field and 3 of 10 from three...

Back to the actual topic of the thread. Aside from his game tying three, his passes were sloppy, his shot selection was iffy and his overall
presence just didn't have a positive impact on the game.

It is amusing to see some of his fans try to defend his performance though. (A "shooting-GAWD".....)

Scoring 10 points on 15 shots is what the Spurs need to win games? Or are you referring to the 6 turnovers? :downspin:

I watched the last 3 minutes of the game and Parker's D was horrendous. He was so slow to react on pick and rolls/screens.
The 3 by Conley was inexcusable he was so wide open.
Luckily Randolph missed some easy layups over Bonner....that won't happen come playoff time. If Pop dares playing this lineup in the playoffs vs Memphis lights out folks.

The lineup was OK for this game, but yeah, in the playoffs Tim needs more help than what he got from the front line this game. Not sure Bonner could replicate this performance on Randolph ever again.

I do think Bonner is much better in the 5th big role though as he can be a nice change up and things aren't going well. It's a good role for Bonner.

I think his turnovers killed us against the Thunder in the WCF. Usually Manu does more good than bad.

Manu definitely still a work in progress this year. The way he started last year was so great, it really sucked when he got hurt. This year it's Tim and Tony playing MVP level early while Manu works into shape.
