My friend from KU said Kansas City news says Simien is a likely pick for the Spurs.

Any thoughts on him? I know he tore it up in college, and he rebounds heh.

He's an awesome player but he's a little short for an NBA PF. I still like him. He's a real talent.

my friend said his height is why he'll go that low in the draft

i dunno, i have no real opinion about him but i do know he was a hell of a college player against UT heh

Simien could pan out to be another Elton Brand.

At Miami, there may not be much PT for him behind Shaq, Alonzo, and Haslem.

Hasn't he been an injury problem player?

He had an injury to his shoulder one year.

I figure as long as it's not his legs, there's probably not a lot to worry about.

If he is better than Haslem watch out next year for Miami. You better keep Rasho because he will be needed against Shaq and the refs.

What?
1 Haslem is underrated, and I really doubt he is better....

And what does keeping rasho for shaq have to do with this?

They will be in the finals because Miami will be the best team in the east. I said it first. Miami will own Detroit or Indiana next year. Wade is the next great thing.

Indiana looks really tough, especially with adding Granger.

Indiana is talented but I still feel that Miami has too much offense and their defense isn't that bad either. They were unlucky to have those injuries against Detroit or they would've beaten Detroit. They would've challenged San Antonio to a 7th game if they were healthy just like Detroit. Wade is becoming a superstar and might be the closest thing to Michael Jordan. Even more than Kobe or T Mac.

Miami is overrated. A Miami-San Antonio finals certainly wouldn't have gone 7 games. Their offense is too predictable and their post play depends on two rapidly aging players - Shaq and Mourning. They may not be able to resign Dooling, Jones, or Haslem. I don't think Simien is all that.

Nice team and certainly a big threat, but right now an intact Pacers team looks tougher, even if their best player, Jermaine O'Neal, isn't better than any of the name players involved (Shaq, Wade, Ginobili, Duncan).

I doubt anyone on the Miami will leave that team after all their success. Miami has proven last year that they can win without Shaq but if Shaq is healthy that is scary for any team in the league. It all depends on health. I think Haslem is overrated and Simien can do just as well playing the 5th option on that team.

If he turns out to be another Nick Collison type, Miami got a nice role player.

Both the Pistons and Spurs had late picks and passed on 20 pts and 11 rbds. Simien for 2 relatively unknown players. That should speak volumes on Simien.

Hope it doesn't come back to bite us in the butt!

when was the last kansas bust?

heinrich is tearing it up and collison is a solid big

LaFrentz might qualify as a bust, though Pierce is obviously a player.

I'm not sold on Simien, and apparently, neither are other teams in the league. He's very skilled, but he's also undersized, and great skill can rarely make up for that kind of size differential.

yeah la frentz, but someone said 'another kansas bust' and last i remember they've been pretty solid lately

pierce is an excellent example

Overall, Kansas has a better NBA pedigree than Duke.

(admittedly, that's damning with faint praise)

well, there's also a huge difference between Simien and the others (Pierce, LaFrentz, Heinrich, Collison) in that the other 4 were sure-fire lottery picks, while Simien was barely a first rounder.

I'd think Simien is more in the Mark Randall, Rex Walters, Jacque Vaughn, Greg Ostertag, Scot Pollard range than in the LaFrentz, Collison, Heinrich, Pierce range.
