Pizza Hut Perfume: Limited Edition Fragrance
"Some clever marketing from Pizza Hut has brought to life a unique and coveted product: pizza perfume. It sounds gross, but thousands of Pizza Hut fans commented on how much they would each like a bottle. The topic started as a way to generate social media engagement. Working with the creative and digital marketing agency Grip Limited, Pizza Hut asked this question on their Facebook page: ”Do you love the smell of a box of Pizza Hut pizza being opened? We thought so. If that smell was a perfume, what would it be called?”
After getting a huge response from the topic, the company decided to actually create the product in question. They made 100 bottles of the perfume and sent them to Facebook fans in December. Pizza Hut’s director of marketing, Beverly D’Cruz, commented on the scent they came up with. “We discovered it was hard to match the smell of freshly baked bread, but it smells somewhat close.”
We couldn’t find anyone selling their Pizza Hut perfumes on Ebay, but it’s only a matter of time. Would you consider smelling like fresh pizza?"
