Gotta be Kingsbury. He's their Gundy.

not gonna happen

Bill_Brasky

They want Art Briles but he's holding out for something else. Kingsbury would be the best hire imo but I don't know if he would take the job either.

Kliff is a great coach and has done an excellent job. Tech hiring somebody that actually wants to be there would also be a huge plus for them. Saying that, he's a very high risk hire. I'm not sure he has enough of a coaching history to put together a good staff. I mean this was his first season of being a sole Offensive Coordinator.

Chad Morris would also be a good hire. Also, what about Petrino? If Tech really wants to win go hire that guy.

DUNCANownsKOBE
12-08-2012, 03:39 PM
The fact Petrino didn't get one of the SEC job openings surprised me. I'd easily take him over Butch Jones.

Isn't Tech gonna hire someone with abusive ties like Knight, Leach, Gillispie, and now recently Tubbs. Wasn't that fat fuck Mangino accused of some abusive shit at Kansas? Sounds like the perfect fit for Tech.

Blake

damn, a day late dollar short to get Dykes.

I wouldn't be thrilled about Kingsbury as HC at this point.

Auburn with Petrino = :wow

The powerhouse SEC teams like Bama, Florida, and LSU would have never fired Petrino over something that stupid and would have hired him if they had coaching vacancies (I'd take Petrino over Miles for that matter). If Saban was caught in the same situation tomorrow, there isn't a snowball's chance in hell Bama even considers firing him. You can't let things like morals and values get in the way of winning if you're in the SEC :lol. There are maybe 10-15 other coaches total in any conference who are better coaches than Petrino.

So Tuberville goes from an 88.000 seat Auburn Stadium, to a 65,000 seat stadium in Lubbock and now to a 35,000 seat stadium in Cincinnati which happens to be one of the oldest stadiums in the country where they average 27,000 per game. He is going to a commuter school in a Big East Conference that is imploding.

WTF? LOL !! How desparate did Tuberville get? Career regression.

Did Tuberville ever make any comments about having to be taken out in a wooden box if he ever left Lubbock?

Do you think Kingsbury, coming off his first season of being a full time OC is ready to take over a program?

Kingsbury sounds better, but neither sound appealing right now.

No doubt in my mind that Kingsbury is going to be a stud Head Coach one day but taking a chance on him right now is a pretty big risk IMO. I'm not sure he has the experience and has been around long enough to hire a good staff to bring with him.

Bill_Brasky

Morris is the safe hire, but Kingsbury would be given more leeway.

Don't know that his time at aggy is done. He probably wants to ride that out and get as much experience as he can. Once Heisman leaves, hell probably start taking HC offers seriously.

Blake
12-11-2012, 12:26 PM
Seems to me Morris would have the better connections with Texas high school recruiting.

I think Kliff would be more fun though.....at least for a few years.....

coyotes_geek
12-11-2012, 01:46 PM
Tech would be a pretty tough situation for KK to jump into right now. That job would look a whole lot better once one or two guys out of the Patterson-Briles-Gundy-Snyder quartet have moved on.

Twisted_Dawg
12-11-2012, 10:21 PM
Kingsbury should leverage any offer from Tech for a sizeable raise from TAMU. He would be absolutely nuts to leave Manziel and that recruiting class. He should ride that Manziel/Sumlin wave for 2-3 more years and shoot for a job at a major university. Kingsbury is not stupid and knows how difficualt it is to get recruits to Lubbock.

Sumlin and Kingsbury looked like geniuses this past season. But without Johnny Football, that is a 6-6 team and they look real average.

The one good thing that can be said about Sumlin is that he knows to hire OCs from the Mike Leach family tree.
