He's done a nice job of shoring up the hole left by Harden averaging 15 ppg and 48% 3FG, but will it translate in the playoffs? Though we have no sample size on him right now, I'm going to go ahead and say no. He's still a poor defender and almost half of his attempts have been from distance. That won't get it in the post season.

Son, the biggest issue is that Westbrook will inevitably have a hero ball game and Martin will get near zero touches...

It seems Kevin Martin is playing with a lot more purpose and motivation in the winning & true contender OKC team, but agree, he's not really a playmaker and his effectiveness in the post season will be more likely being decided by the mercy of Durant & especially, Westbrook.

he's just as good a scorer as beard nigga, he might be a defensive liabiilty but beard ain't much better than him in that regard. beard was like their primary play maker and that's what they're gonna miss bad imho. if they get into a similar situation like the lakers where durant has to take the main play making work as kobe does, they would be genuinely fucked tbh

Martin is a pretty decent defender. Have not seen any big lapses in his defense, although hes not a great defender. He creates offense very well. He's a good playmaker as well. Did anyone not see him tonight? He's a great penetrator and very good at finding an open man. Him and Collison have a nice thing going. He's very quick. Quicker than Harden. He's not going to get to the iron like Harden but he's very good at the off balance floaters and such.

Good call. Never expected him to make up for Harden by any means but he's incredibly streaky and just has not shown what I had hoped he could. Would be surprised and disappointed if OKC resigned him.

I haven't heard from him since the end of the first round. Is he still alive?

Kevin Martin is a malnourished scrub that for years relied on throwing his body into defenders. Did you really have to ask if he would falter in the playoffs ?
