I love this fight becuse of the style Nick Brings. Nik unlike many of GSP's foes will be coming forward the whole time. His chin is amazing as is his cardio. The ground game will belong to GSP's top game but Nick is very good there.. GSP has to use all his tools..

Ellenberger is a hell of a fighter who was in a bit of a slump. There skill sets actually match up pretty even. Hendricks has struggled with wrestlers and Ellenberger has KO power as well..

The highly-anticipated Rory MacDonald vs. Carlos Condit rematch is off.

According to sources close to the fight, MacDonald suffered an undisclosed injury in training, which has forced him to withdraw from his fight against Condit at UFC 158.

No opponent has been signed to replace MacDonald against Condit next month. As of now, he is still expected to compete on the card.

UFC 158, headlined by Georges St-Pierre vs. Nick Diaz, will take place March 16 at Bell Centre in Montreal.

We are a month out, Dana will do the Diaz/GSP fight nomatter what IMO.. He knows Nick will show up on fight night but blowing off Primetime or Countdown shows hurts the amount of PPV's the card can sell. The gate will be big just because it is GSP in Canada. Diaz may get cut soon from the UFC because he just hates doing any media whatsoever.

- Both guys had trouble vs wrestlers in their respective TUF finales, luckily this is more of a striker match up; Fletcher has the adv in length, guy has freakishly long arms but I give edge to Ricci because he still has more diverse skill set and has to be gaining lots of experience training with McDonald. He is also moving down in weight for this one, his natural weight class at 155.

I've been looking forward to this fight for 2 years now. GSP I think will stop Diaz and end his decision streak. Diaz cuts easily and I think the combination of GNP and striking will end with a ref or doctor stoppage by the end of the 4th rd. The way Diaz comes forward with amazing cardio and pace combined with GSP's well-rounded game should make for a very very exciting fight.

I think Condit will expose the holes in Hendrick's game. Hendricks has that big left and I expect him to throw it far too often in this fight. Greg Jackson will design a plan for getting around that left and striking smart for 3 rounds. Carlos wins A UD..

I hope it will be the 2nd round finish by GSP with no coincidence or a fluke. I wish myself and GSP total domination. It will be tough with Nick cause he is a workhorse and has brutal cardio and pace which can cause ton of problems for George. On the weigh-ins you could see the rise of adrenaline for St-Pierre when Nick decided to push his /gsp's/ hand.
Very very interesting how it all ends up.

I scored it for Condit due to constantly working from the bottom and always managing to get up from the take downs, in addition to constant pressure...but Hendricks hit him with more power shots and got a bunch of quality slams. These dudes both deserve to fight for a title against each other one day. This fight also showed just how dominating GSP was against Condit.

If Rory still wants Condit, he might want to take a warm up fight cuz Condit is a such a beast and he's gonna be pissed.

Earlier today I was watching Redbelt and GSP's actions after they announced his victory reminded of it. GSP took his time to properly knot his belt, he didn't rush even though Dana was holding the Championship belt right on GSP's shoulder. GSP is the real deal martial artist. But I have a feeling this match, as dominant as it was, will be the last for GSP at WW. He looks tired, maybe even a little old. If he fights in 5 months against Hendricks, that's 3 fights in 1 year - look at how often he's actually fought 3 fights in 1 year. I think GSP will wait and take the fight w/ Anderson at MW. Win or lose, then I think GSP looks like he's ready to go...maybe I'm wrong?

It's strange what you talking about here.
His last 2 fights were really tough. Even when he dominated Nick the way he was he still got the damage.
3 fights in 1 year is nothing.

Johnny is bigger then GSP and he causes amazing problems in wrestling and power in his hands. He he is tough t pick apart what he shown in the Condit matchup.
Half a year from now is quick to get back to action?

Well the Condit Hendricks fight was pretty good. But yeah basically the highlight of the weekend was Diaz crazy rambling at the post fight press conference.

GSP looks like he slowed down since his return, like noticeably, failing to get the takedown vs Diaz in the later rounds when he dominated Koscheck like he did in the past is just weird.

I don't think Hendricks is a good fight for him.

- Both guys had trouble vs wrestlers in their respective TUF finales, luckily this is more of a striker match up; Fletcher has the adv in length, guy has freakishly long arms but I give edge to Ricci because he still has more diverse skill set and has to be gaining lots of experience training with McDonald. He is also moving down in weight for this one, his natural weight class at 155.

Funny thing - after I watched the event I went to sleep 620am my girlfriend woke up at 900am or something and she made herself a breakfast turn on tv and there was a rerun of the fight and when I woke up she said. How the hell you was worried Diaz will cause any problems for GSP. He was waving his hands like he did not knew what to do. The guy can't fight. Kind on the background fights better.

Thats the sum up of this fight. Nick looked like an amateur out there. And tell me damn that at least 3 rounds were not 10-8!

Well this took me forever to get to comment on the fights.. Just got the internet yesterday with all the craziness of moving. It was a good event overall main event I enjoyed but anything less than a bloody brawl was going to leave some people feeling flat. Diaz outside of a few exchanges in round 3 fought pretty shitty. The best thing you can say about him is his chin is great as is his cardio but his JJ is overrated that is for sure.


Condit/Hendricks was a war and had it been 5 rounds Condit was going to win. Hendricks never found him with his big left and the gaps in their striking games were really starting to show..

Hendricks is basically a copy of Koscheck only he has the power in his left hand as opposed to the right. Hell when Kos and Hendricks fought it was basically to a draw as they tried to do the exact same thing to eachother. GSP can pick him apart with the jab and kicks IMO.

Yup but IMO Kos was not as determined against GSP as Johnny will be. And btw. Hendricks got more power then anybody else.

If GSP can work around that hand and avoid takedowns/ which Hendricks is better the Kos as well/. It's gonna be again a 5 rounder dominant performance by the champ.

IMO it might be a relatively easy fight for GSP. It all depends on a fluke with power shots.
Condit could avoid any damage on the ground and GSP can do that as well IMO.
And this power shots with adequate range for champ can cause a windmill fest for Hendricks.


But a combination of power in hands and wrestling credentials makes a deadly fighting machine.

That's exactly what I'm saying. If an opponent comes out and can only win through grappling with the Spider, that is an easy match for the champ then not to mention Silva is an underated wrestler/grappler with his TKO's in his recent fights.
