I agree. Unfortunately the current trend is a rise in obesity which causes all sorts of diseases. People shouldn't be paying more taxes, just because some people are lazy to give at least 20 minutes of their day to exercise.

I live in Canada, and obseity is a conern. (although not bad as the US) but what happens if 20 years from now, 30 to 40 percent of the population become obese? We're going to end up paying for them? I understand it's different in the US but with the current system, it looks like you guys are going to end up doing the same.

Countless things from Alzheimer's to cancer has been tied to high cholesterol/poor blood circulation which is largely tied to obesity. If this country didn't have an obesity epidemic I bet that would lower healthcare costs by 25-30% if not more. It's largely why other countries don't have the same gross healthcare issues we have.
