It appears that Pop has finally seen the light and will start Tiago alongside Duncan for the reminder of the season. If this is the case and Tiago plays around 30 minutes a night AND doesn't get injured (crossing fingers), he will average borderline all-star numbers and the Spurs will finally be a real threat.

Damn it, you jinxed the spurs, we should expect an injury from Splitter any game now....

Wouldnt surprise me if the golden god ends up being one of the top two centers in the west by seasons end tbh. Right alongside Marc Gasol.

That's why I added the "if he doesn't get injured" part. I covered all the angles, if he gets injured is not my fault, tbh. :lol

My thoughts exactly. Damn it, DAF.

Besides, there's no need for warning, no matter how many people believe the LOB is Miami's to lose. ;)

Tiago's going to blow another dunk and land so hard that his spine will shoot out through the top of his skull and it will all be traced back to this thread.

Link?

The fact that he started Splitter alongside Duncan in a game where the opposing team didn't have two 7 footers and the rumours going upstairs. Of course that with Pop you never know.

Pop adjusts the lineup during the regular season, he has tons of time to change his mind and decide that another combination should get comfortable together for the post-season. Although, I do expect this change to last quite a few games before that happens.

With what they have already done together, at the very least Duncan and Splitter will be more comfortable working together if called to do so during the playoffs.

Duncan looks a little concerned. And with the expression on Splitter's face he has good reason to be.

There's really no evidence that Splitter will continue to start with Duncan other than the blatantly obvious common sense of that decision, but it's been common sense for a really long time, so I'm not holding my breath on this yet.

That being said, with Pop throwing that tantrum at Splitter against OKC in the playoffs, it will be a pretty good indicator Splitter's nabbed the starting spot if Pop lets him start v OKC next game.

"Killer line-up"

Tony Parker | Danny Green | Kawhi Leonard | Tim Duncan | Tiago Splitter
Minutes Played: 179
Offensive Rating: 105.3 points per 100 possessions
Defensive Rating: 89.1 points per 100 possessions

Seventy-eight lineups in the NBA have played 100 minutes or greater, and none is more defensively efficient than this group. Ever since Leonard returned and Splitter became more comfortable with the starters, this unit has surrendered only 88.3 points per 100 possessions -- even better than its overall rating of 89.1.

:cry Defense wins championhsips :cry

BTW, Splitter's numbers the last 5 games: MINS:31 FG:6.8-9.4 FG%:723 RBDS:9.4 PTS:16.2

Borderline all-star if you ask me.

Why do ST members always assume that other people have a dozen troll accounts? I wouldn't have the time and patience for that.

Maybe some people don't care enough about the username they're using and won't bother starting a new account with a trendy, cutting edge username just to please spurfans or if the letters are bolded or not and all related faggotry.
