Wondering if the tragedy has really brought this team together. The injuries..having to play with a lot of guys off the streets...they're starting to show a little heart finally.
Even though Felix has been ok this season, getting Murray back has been huge.
Also, Carr has been consistently our best cornerback all season. This is a game we definitely lose last year with N:lolwm:loln out there instead

Don't get me wrong, this Cowboy team is still playing shitty while they're winning close games, especially last week against the Bengals. They can't keep this up or else it will come back to bite them.

Yeah...Newman in Cincinnati is one of the best things that ever happened to us. Though Adam Jones (not the old Pacman, but the current Adam) wouldn't be awful coming off the bench. Carr should be our best DB with the money we put up. Hopefully he'll continue to play that way if we get into the playoffs.

It's pretty impressive the way guys stepped up on both sides of the ball. They really hadn't all season long. I hope it's more than emotion from a tragic situation and they're actually learning to make fewer dumb mistakes.

lol...son...I'm not talking shit, first off. Just speaking facts. Romo's had a great December for the first time in a long ass time, and I'm excited about it. It's nice to have an opportunity to troll a troll, and it was successful. I'm not saying they're going to beat either the Saints or the Skins...I'm not expecting a win either game...but so far so good for Romo.

What the hell do you know about success? You couldn't even please your wife enough to make her stay and now you are getting married again, with likely the same results. You do have your basement studio though. Perhaps you can get Willie from the karaoke bar down the street to come sings some covers and make a CD. Hell, he might even be able to sell some of them at the bar and you guys could split the profits. I'm sure you will need the money as your new wife will be spending like crazy to make herself look good for the other guy who will be routinely emptying his balls into her esophagus.

grave? This is a fucking message board dude. It's this bullshit that got the NBA Forum shut down temporarily. I don't care if you laugh at me. Seriously...say what you will about me..I have a good life, and I'm happy. What someone who I've never met or care about thinks or says about me means absolutely nothing. I'm on this forum because it's the best Spurs forum on the web, and the people in here have breaking news you can't find other places. And I have developed a friendship with a few of them. You sit back and laugh at me, trying to make yourself look cool in front of everyone on this message board, and you waste your time, actually thinking I care, when really I enjoy it. I enjoy watching, knowing your life is so shallow that you feel you have to bring people's private pictures into public forum, as a way of insulting them. I don't care if people see what I look like or what my wife looks like...but for A Train to bring it up in a personal way, and say he wants me to hook him up with her, and you two to say she's my sister, son, I'd knock you the hell out if you ever said it to my face. But that's the thing with you "internet tough guys." You wouldn't. You hide behind your keyboard. And that's ok...I just hope you stop this bullshit and bashing before the NFL forum gets shut down too.

First off, coming in here and personally insulting someone and laughing about it with other people is trying to be a cool guy..denying it just makes you look even more like an asshole. I only posted what I did about what I had because someone said I had no life...it's called standing up for yourself. And speaking of standing up for myself. once more..I'm not going to look for a fight..that's ignorant..I was taught differently. But I promise you I was also taught to defend myself...I'm 6'1 185 lbs...not a big guy by any means, but I guarantee you I won't strike first..but I would strike last.

tbh the willingness to search for dirt on someone and the patience needed to properly search for it are a troll's most powerful virtues. when you make yourself look bad, i don't need to say anything. just quote and post.

Giants are out of the NFC East race. They can get a wild card if a bunch of things happen, but the winner of Dallas-Washington wins the division. Redskins also win division with a tie.

:lol...where was I wrong? Romo's had a great December...just because they didn't win every game this month doesn't mean Romo hasn't had a great December. This game that you're laughing at, he threw 24-43 for 416 yards, 4 TDs, and no INTs..that loss was not on him..and I said "HOPEFULLY THEY CAN PULL IT TOGETHER" it's right there in the quote...HOPEFULLY. Whether they do or not has yet to be seen. I do know one thing. The Giants will not win their division...The Cowboys could. That last post was about 3 years ago. The fact that you bring that out just shows how obsessed you are...that's ok though..again..the troll thing...too much time on your hands. Response? Maybe something other than a post from 3 years ago that has nothing to do with the subject, or are you so completely ignorant that when you know you're wrong, you're going to try to bring up another post from half a decade ago, hoping someone else with laugh with you...well...someone who isn't just another one of your trolls.

416 yds, 4tds, 0 ints, and an overtime punt against a historically awful defense (that he carved up on the 2 previous drives). His whole career has been big show, no results. They had all the momentum in the world after that crazy comeback and winning the coin toss--at that point is there anybody who really didnt think the Cowboys would take the ball down the field and score? Sure the defense was horrible, but the ball was in his hands with a chance to win the game. How can somebody with such great statistics always come up short

You pretty much nailed it. Romo's stat line is very misleading about how he played in the game. His first 2 touchdown passes were both facilitated by great catches and runs after the catch by Dez Bryant. Any QB could have made those passes. The other 2 td drives came after the Saints went into a prevent defense. Before those final 2 drives, the Cowboys were about 1 for 10 on 3rd down conversions. Do you know how horrible that is? 1 for 10 on one of the worst defenses in the history of the NFL? lol Then his team wins the coin toss, and has a chance to win the game against said horrible defense, and he can't do it. It amazes me how some fans still defend this loser. Are Cowboys fans delusional, or are they just fucking clueless about what makes a good QB? They immediately point to the stat line to judge how good the QB is? lol
If Romo loses to a hobbled chimp with everything on the line this weekend, he should immediately join Jovan Belcher.
As big a supporter of Romo as I am, if they lose again this weekend, it's time to go in a new direction

I think if they bring someone in, it has to be a veteran. This team has shown time and time again that they don't know how to mold good players into successful players. So yeah..if they're going to bring someone in, it's going to have to be someone to take Romo's place. I'd be completely ok with that if it brings us wins...the problem is, Romo is not the only problem. This whole team doesn't know how to win when it matters...changing just one position isn't going to do it. We need rebuilding...including coaching, and hell, ownership.

That statement is contradictory. Why would you go with another veteran QB if you wanted to rebuild? What veteran QB is a better option than Romo--not including the unavailable bosses of the league? If you make a change at QB, its through the draft.
Also, do the Cowboys really need to rebuild across the board? Lee, Ware, Ratliff, Carr, and Claiborne is a great nucleus to build from on D, and the Cowboys have a shit ton of weapons on the offensive side of the ball.

fuck that.
if they decide to move on from romo, they need to draft a young qb.
cowboys suck at bringing in decent veterans.
yeah idk of any reasonably available veteran that you could bring in that would be an upgrade. Even though Romo has been a top 10 QB for most of his time here, you have to go in a new direction when the team keeps coming up short in big games.

It's all pretty much a moot point as long as Jerry Jones insists on being an omnipotent GM who will only hire beta male coaches who will blindly agree with all of his decisions.

12-26-2012, 08:16 PM

As big a supporter of Romo as I am, if they lose again this weekend, it's time to go in a new direction
I disagree, if the cowboys lose this weekend it'll be because of the injury plagued defense. Romo still has a few more years imo, if they can fix the o-line and stay healthy they can go on a playoff run in the not to distant future imho.

You're right...I think it's just the philosophy of this team. the coaching and ownership...we just don't know how to build. That's why I have a real problem with bringing in a young QB...we won't be able to build him into a tough NFL QB because we don't know how. That's why it's real hard to be a Cowboys fan..well...a REAL Cowboys fan, because you're going to deal with the frustration of things like that. I don't know if it's bad choices by the team or what..but it just seems like every time we get this talented guy who's supposed to be fantastic, he's a bust. We have so many issues with our coaching and front office that it's got to be so frustrating to be a part of this team.

:lol at Cowboy fans who didn't want Peyton Manning last Spring and were content with Romo. As much of a problem as Jerry Jones is along with Garrett, Manning would have masked those flaws instantly. The false start and delay of game drive ending penalties would rarely be happening because Peyton would be the one actually coaching that team and holding everyone accountable. That was the only way to quick fix the Cowboys with Jerry running things.

actually lamborghini mercy tom cruise it was just a little booze etc you're probably right in the fact that they might have to give him one more year since the QB class is kinda weak in next year's draft.
Yeah they do..but they're even worse at bringing in young players and coaching them up. The coaching and mentoring just isn't there...or something. We can't seem to do it.
I kind of disagree. I don't think the Cowboys are as bad as you think at developing young players. Look at Ware, Lee, Carter on defense (maybe Claiborne down the road) and then Murray, Bryant on offense. fwiw, it's usually the lazy ass veterans that would do us in (Newman, Flozell, Ellis, James, Crayton etc).

See...I see where you're coming from on that, but my take is that guys like that are going to be good in the NFL because they're just that talented...their level is already there. When you get someone who's on the fence..maybe has a good shot at being a Pro-Bowler, or even a legit starter, and you put him on the Cowboys, they sometimes have an issue getting a player's full potential. I guess a lot of teams have that issue sometimes..maybe it's just that I only give a shit about Dallas..lol

:lol at most of the NFL teams not wanting Peyton Manning. What a load of bullshit. The 49ers, Seahawks, Cardinals, Titans, Dolphins, Jets, and Broncos all come to mind. Several others would have loved to have him, but didn't have the cap room while the rest were already situated at QB. Even after 4 neck surgeries, Peyton Manning was still a must have free agent and possibly the biggest free agent in NFL history. He was a risk worth gambling on. I expected him to resume his elite play once Denver signed him, and I am not shocked at all at this MVP season he is having.

Don't bother trying to reason with this cuck. It's obvious his manhood was taken away from him by sister wife. He's always been dumb, but he doesn't even try to talk any real shit anymore. tbh it's hard to pinpoint what you're trying to accomplish with this overplayed shitty schtick. That's why posters are questioning you're takes in this thread in light of today's game...
tbh a part of me was just completely thrilled since i had monetary interest in the cowboys losing, so it was fun to pile on.
also, being that this is a texas based forum, there are an awful lot of cowboy fans who make a lot of noise, so i naturally strike back. similar to how the nba forum is essentially the laker vs anti laker forum.
i also got kicks when floyd p tried to convince me that romo was one of the most clutch qb's around earlier in the season, so i like to bring certain things to his attention.
i dont have any negative feelings towards the cowboys in general. they're probably the nfc mirror to the raiders. glorious past, senile owner, etc etc
ps: also, trolling is a thing, from time to time. i'm not a regular practitioner, but hey

i'll grant you that. the dallas defense was completely destroyed and outmatched. still, romo wasn't able to keep up like he did against denver
well if you're relying on Romo to put up career highs passing every game you're not gonna get far.
we didn't force a punt in the second half. to me, that seems like a bigger issue.

at the end of the first it was a 7-7 game. after that point, romo was 6-13 passing. not that you would have won the game anyway with the way your defense played, but that sort of performance is still unacceptable especially when demarco was having the success he was having

The whole Tony Romo December thing is comical. I hate Romo, but the teams he has are awful. It's not about him losing in December, it's about the Dallas Cowboys not being good enough when it matters. Late in the year it's time for everyone to step up and win, hence Dallas loses. Teams are playing for their playoff lives. Dallas is always around .500 and that is what they are. Good teams separate themselves, Dallas isn't good enough to do so. Dallas has had a horrid O line for almost 5 years now. Their Defense has been awful for a while. Their Secondary has struggled for the most part since Darren Woodson retired, with a decent year here or there.
Jerry Jones hands out huge deals to over achieving skill players but never builds the O line or D line. It is what it is. I knew Dallas was going to give up points in the 40's yesterday and everyone called me nuts. This is the worst Defense of all time. Dallas is going to lose to the Packers. Beat the Skins, and lose to the Eagles. 8-8. AGAIN. It is what it is. And if you think it is bad now, wait for the off season. Dallas has to cut half the roster. You could see Ware, Witten, Carr, and Austin all gone. Go ahead say no way, but what choice does Dallas have?

Ramiro and Joan Romo welcomed Antonio Ramiro Romo into the family in San Diego, California on April 21, 1980. Ramiro was serving in the United States Navy and had moved his family from Wisconsin to California four years earlier. “Tony” was Ramiro and Joan’s third child and only son behind two girls: Danielle, 4 and Jossalyn 2. The Romo family moved to Burlington, Wisconsin in July of 1982. There they raised their three children from elementary school through high school graduation.
By the age of six Tony was already very active in sports. His love for competition began when he would tag along with his father and watch him play intramural basketball at the city gym. Basketball became Tony’s first love in the sports arena, but he would still go on to participate in several other sports.
When he turned eight he received his first set of golf clubs for Christmas. A story the Romo family is fond of telling goes something like this: Tony was so happy that Santa had brought him a set of clubs that he went outside and proceeded to tee up a golf ball in the empty lot next to his parents home. Mrs. Romo informed her husband that Tony was outside getting ready to hit a golf ball directed at the neighbor’s home. Ramiro didn’t hesitate when he replied, “ it’s okay he’ll miss it.” Tony hit the ball flush. It was a 70-yard shot that landed square in the neighbors’ front living room.
Tony enjoyed many summers playing baseball, basketball and golf. When he was nine he played little league baseball, and started as a shortstop for the Burlington Mini’s. He played little league baseball until he was 12 years old and then moved up to senior league baseball. In senior league Tony became a formidable catcher. Many a player was unable to steal bases from his watchful eye. At 15, Tony and his teammates won a city senior league championship.
Tony’s high school days were very entertaining. After enrolling at Burlington High School he tried out for the freshman soccer team. Freshman soccer couldn’t field a full team, so Tony ended up playing football when they were already two weeks into training camp. In Tony’s junior year he was still not the starter for the team because the coaches liked another prospect. Halftime In the second game of the season, however, the same coaches changed their mind and put Tony in. Over his junior and senior year, he accomplished very productive statistical seasons for the Burlington Demons. Tony eventually accepted a partial scholarship to play football at Eastern Illinois University. He became the all time touchdown leader at Eastern and would go on to win the Walter Payton award in his senior year. This award is given to the best college football player in the United States at the 1AA level. It is the Heisman Trophy equivalent at the 1A level.
On draft day the Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos, Arizona Cardinals, Detroit Lions, and Miami Dolphins all called Tony at his home in Burlington. After about half an hour of weighing his options Tony decided to accept an offer to walk-on for the Dallas Cowboys. Tony proceeded slowly in Dallas, working from third-string quarterback to starting quarterback over the course of four years. Today Tony works with his teammates toward the ultimate goal of winning a Super Bowl Championship.

He's one of the first of his kind in NFL history, tbh...which is why he's so polarizing. We've never seen a player put up such elite regular season #'s, only to come up short EVERY TIME and lose in such inexplicable ways. Somebody on the NFL Forum made a joke about it, but the "December Romo: A Football Life", or his Top 10 Meltdowns will be epic TV. Not even Shakespeare could craft such a tragic character as this imo--Would've loved to have heard this line spoken by John Fascenda tbh for TR's NFL Film Session

Another thing that makes the Romo Era so memorable--and something we should all appreciate while it's still here--is the nature of these never-ending meltdowns. If you hate a certain team, you want them to be competitive and have their hearts ripped out every year. It's no fun if you hate the Bills or Jaguars, cause every year they're out of the picture by Week 5. The Boys always keep us (and their fans) in suspense till Week 17, giving their fans a guaranteed 4-months of sustained agony and unfulfilled promises every year. I treasure these NFL memories

i didn't pin the entire loss on romo. he choked in both and iced the games, nonetheless. comparatively speaking, danny green totally shit the bed in game 6 of the finals, but he's not the one who necessarily choked down the stretch. romo always seems to fuck up when it matters in these games.
against green bay, they had a lead, and just had to run the clock out. the coach called a run, romo audibled to pass and got picked. green bay scored and took the lead. on the last drive, romo threw yet another pick.
against denver, romo played the game of his life. cowboys defense was getting lit up by Manning on the other side. the cowboys have the ball with 2 minutes left in a TIE game. the cowboys are on their own 14... and romo throws a pick. denver didn't even have to move the ball for the GW field goal. romo handed it to them
people seem to mistakenly think that i blame the entirety of the losses on romo. its not the case. their defense has been subpar, and their coaching is often questionable. but when the game is truly on the line, Romo seems to find ways to fuck up in big games

Romo gave the games back:lol if u say so "raiderfan"... How waz your turkey? Turkey? :toast

:lmao delusional Cowboys fans who still expect Tony Romo to all of a sudden turn it around and become a winner. Romo is a career loser, that is reality. You can take all of the statistics and spin them however you want. The reality is that anyone who has watched the Cowboys over the past 8 years knows that in the most critical games, Tony Romo will fail. It all started when he couldn't even cleanly catch the snap on an extra point in a playoff game and it's been downhill since then.

Tony Romo has a career record of 13-21 in December, including 0-2 this season. His critical interceptions against GB cost his team the game.

Can we get your thoughts on this? We haven't heard from you lately.
Thanks in advance,

:lol has anyone had an easier end of schedule in NFL history?
He will have ended the season facing 5 straight backup quarterbacks from when the season started (McGloin, McCown, Flynn, cousins, Foles)

romo would thrive as a game manager. we finally have a solid offensive line and a beast running back. asking romo to throw for more than 20-25 times a game is asking for trouble. we should be feeding demarco until he can't take anymore, no homo. too bad our management and coaching staff is piss poor to realize this.

The Ravens won their first championship with Dilfer as their bus driver..but their defense was the best in the League. This isn't gonna work in Dallas.
Improved offensive line, yes. Solid? Not so sure about that. After Travis Frederick and Tyron Smith it's all question marks. Brian Waters helped, but he is not the answer at RG being 37 years old next season. Doug Free, Jermey Parnell, and Ron Leary are all expendable. The Cowboys need to invest in top talent, whether it be in the draft or FA.
I agree, DeMarco Murray is above average. The only concern of course is health, and like you said the scheme the coaches run. As for Romo, it's actually worse than you think. He is averaging 35.6 throws per game over his last 10, with ridiculous pass attempt numbers in the NYG, GB, PHI, and MIN games with 38, 48, 47, and 51 pass attempts respectively. Lopsided playcalling like that is begging for trouble.
Speaking of self awareness, the person truly unaware is Jerry. Over the last 16 years of being .500, he is the only mainstay. He used Parcells to improve the team short term, and get the fanbase and media off his back just long enough to allow him to go back to his comfort zone of faggotry. If that POS doesn't hire a REAL GM, the Cowboys will never improve because this dumbshit in his senile mind truly believes the Cowboys are just a draft pick away from a Championship.

Hell no, are you crazy? It goes down as one of the best moves in Cowboy's history.
It's not quite Roy Williams or Joey Galloway trade status, but it's up there.

Jimmy Johnson won all three for Dallas. He built those championship teams.Barry Switzer came in and took over a team that could have won with me as their coach. It seems you truly don't get how a football team is run.
