Cheddar's should be renamed Salty's. No wonder Mexicans love that place. Best, it isn't.

Best Breakfast Tacos: Ruthies (San Antonio)
Worst Breakfast Tacos: Everywhere Else (San Antonio)

Ruthies is ok, but it looks dirty.

Eddies Taco House (the new one on Wetmore/Thousand oaks) gets the win, imo.

Two huge potato egg tacos for $1 m-f in the mornings on fresh home made tortillas

Ljs is fast food

Best Casual Restaurant: Cheddars

Worst: TGI Fridays

Don't care for Cheddars, but I've only been once. I'd put BJ's and even Ruby Tuesday's above it. The place I like a lot right now is the 54th Street Grill; good food, good service, nice atmosphere, and the best Long Island Iced Teas in the world.

Nothing is worse than Chili's.

Best steakhouse: Salt Grass

Worst: The Keg (in Dallas)

Love The Salt Grass, hate The Longhorn

Best Casual Mexican: Pericos

Worst: On the Border

Mexican food in SA has always been a sore spot for me, can't say there's anywhere I love. If I have to eat Mexican out (which I rarely do), it's Mi Tierra for the atmosphere, or Aldacos for the patio and drinks. The worst is pretty much any other Mexican food joint I've tried here.

Best Seafood: Fish City Grill

Worst: Landry's

I agree with Fish City Grill. I'll also go to some of the Chinese buffets for crab legs only. I don't eat much seafood so I can't say what's the worst.

I'm just picking what I like from places I've eaten at.

Feel free to post any restaurant anywhere in the world

There's a good restaurant in Port Aransas called Venetian Hot Plate. We'd passed by it for several years and never thought to try it out. We finally did and now make sure we eat there whenever we get down there.

Don't care for Cheddars, but I've only been once.

I've been mostly to the one at i10/lolutsa parkway, once in Corpus.

They give large servings, low prices, and above average quality (they claim much of the stuff is made there from scratch).

My only beef is that the service is hit or miss. We waited over an hour for our food at the one in Corpus (manager did comp dessert though)

LOL I agree Ruthies looks dirty.
It used to look worse but the owner fixed it up a bit..

Eddies Taco House Is what it is.. Tacos there at Eddies are not as big as Ruthies.

Ruthies Sells Huge Made From Scratch Breakfast Tacos Monday-Saturday... From Open Till Close!! (I think they close on Sundays)
Tortillas are thick and soft as hell too!

LJS is a crap fast food spot...
But their Chicken is by far better than any other chicken place.

I just ate at the new-ish Liberty Bar in that former convent last Friday. It was fun. Fusiony mix of food. Goat cheese appetizer. Decently spicy tenderloin and bacon taco plate. Date's lamb sausage was a little dry, but lamb was never my thing anyway. First floor was much quieter than the second where the bar and main kitchen are located, so choose accordingly if you go.

I like La Gloria at the Pearl. Just tried it for the first time last weekend and was surprised by the cost too (I would have thought for such a trendy spot that it would be expensive).

"traditional central mexican street food"

We two plates of street tacos (3 each), a mocajete of seasoned strip steak, a plate of shishkabob (unskewered and on corn tortillas), and one bacon-wrapped hotdog with fries, a tea, a margarita, a mandarin orange soda, and a sprite. Our tab came out to 47 bucks. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the shishkabob.

we parked at the pearl, walked the river toward downtown (to see the lights), turned around once we got to downtown, walked back and ate at La Gloria. It was a pretty good time for the family.

I'd go with Eddies over Ruthies. Ruthies tortillas are too thick. It's like having a taco on flat-bread.

Steakhouse - Agree with Salt-Grass. Place is money. Worst would be Texas Land and Cattle

Best seafood- Upperscale would be Pappadeaux hands down. Hole in the wall is Rudy's seafood on the southside. Nothin but money.

For Casual Mexican I like Saritas. Grew up on it so I love it.
