Stimulate the mind comes first.

For me it has a lot to do with me loving to read. So I need to see some visuals now and then, it makes things easier when I'm working my brain over a book. Make sense?

Where else can we see....

....except the movies? Now the next time I read a book with a cyclops in it..........

the same reason why i watch sports games tbh. there's hardly any reason why you want to watch movies or games but you just watch them anyway

My celibate nigga telling truths.

Is like asking why do we wake up, why do we go to sleep, why do we breathe air.

Any or all of the three, depending on the film.

I think its a bit different than this, for some I am sure it goes this way but more often than not I use it to stimulate my mind I think, sometimes for entertainment

Yeah agreed, visuals are a big thing. I can't picture things in my mind very well

I can read a western in a break room full of people talking (because I have). But when it comes to fantasy/sci fi I have to be alone and quiet, yep lamp beside the bed.

Keep in mind I did say...westerns. Don't have to work the brain too hard with them, the guy loves his horse, is a loner in a strange town, she's real cute and he needs to get her out of some jam. More or less.

I really could ride the range, no matter where I was. I'd be right there on some dusty trail t'ween Tomstone and Dodge far far away from the noise of a work place breakroom. Don't know if I'm the norm or you are, never thought about it before.

I do know the noise did bug me when the first time I tried to read Steppenwolf by Hermann Hesse. Only time I tried a non western in a breakroom.

To escape reality

What if the movie is based on real life?

I'd say video games best suit that purpose imo.

True, good point. I guess maybe it's better to say it's a temporary escape from your worries and problems. When you watch a movie, your attention is usually focused on the movie. You're usually not thinking about your problems or personal drama when you're watching a movie.

I agree video games best suit that but people who want to escape reality when watching movies will just steer towards ones far from reality.

It depends on the movie.Watching Shawsank Redemption or some Hopkins movies stimulate the mind. When I watch stuff like Iron Man it's because I'm fucking bored.
