Despite being an important player in the tablet market, Acer has never been keen on making a push in the high-end smartphone niche. As a matter of fact, we haven’t even seen that many entry-level or mid-range handhelds from the company of late, with the only worthy exceptions being the much delayed CloudMobile and the disappointing Liquid Z110 Duo.
The recently leaked V360 however looks like a different kettle of fish, though we won’t go as far as to call it high-end material. The 4.5-incher will at least come running Jelly Bean, which is a first step toward Acer’s smartphone redemption.
Now a trio of high-quality pics starring the V360 has been uncovered by a Chinese website and we can definitely say the upcoming phone is a looker too. Though it doesn’t exactly rock an original design, the V360 seems a tad more elegant and stylish than the CloudMobile.

The bezel might be a bit thicker, but the body is definitely not chunky, weighing in at 140 grams and measuring 9.9 mm in depth. The curves and rounded corners are unfortunately still there, but again, there’s something about this that just doesn’t feel as tacky as CloudMobile’s look.
Not even that striped textured back is very ugly, although it’s obviously not beautiful either. There’s also a little DTS logo on that back that makes us ignore the design elements that don’t work and that reveals one spec we didn’t know about before – Digital Theater Systems sound enhancements.

The Android 4.1.1 running is also “confirmed” by one of the three pics, while the rest of the known features remain the same as a few days ago – 1 GHz dual-core processor, 4.5-inch display with 960 x 540 pixels resolution, 5 MP rear-facing camera with flash, VGA front-facing webcam, microSD support and 3G connectivity.
No words on the exact release date yet and nothing on a launch outside China, where it’s probably going to sell for the equivalent of $300 in an unlocked flavor. Don’t know about you, but for that price I know at least a couple of guys who’d be interested in a phone like this in Europe and America.
