And both are bench players as well! If Gary Neal and Danny Green get their three point shooting stroke back, we could end up being the premier three point shooting team in the league!

It's hard to take some of these seriously... 9 of 18? C'mon.

I wonder if there's a way to see these percentages adjusted for both openness and location. For example, Bonner's threes are much more open than Mills', but Mills takes more of his from the shorter distance of the corner. Then you've got people like Neal who are taking them anytime, anywhere. It's really hard to determine who the best pure "shooter" is. If we had access to all the data, it'd be a cinch, but I don't know how to get at nice and easy shooting stats sortable even by shot location, much less how open someone is.

Bowen's a classic example. He had a TERRIBLE shooting percentage in Boston, but he led the league in SA, because he took only open shots from the corner. It was a brilliant strategy. Did that make him the "best" shooter in the NBA? Of course not. But how do we measure that? Beats me... questions like that are what make the NBA interesting imo.

They should've added Timmy on first place with 2/3 :toast

Spurs may have 2 in the top 10, but still not gonna be in the competition during All Star Weekend.

I still think Gary Neal would be electric in that competition. Hes got a quick trigger and ice water veins. Those two combinations, and a total lack of defenders putting a hand in his face, would allow him to dominate.

Both are bench players that don't play many minutes. It doesn't mean much.

Bonner and Mills play the least minutes of our bench though. In fact, Mills and Bonner are 12th and 13th in minutes per game, respectively. I would be much more comfortable if Danny Green/Gary Neal were on this list as opposed to Bonner and Mills

The top 5 three point shooters of our team on 3 point ATTEMPTS per game are: Green, Manu, Neal, Jax, and Kawhi. The leader of that group in 3pt % is Green at 36.9%. These guys need to improve. The rest is fools gold

Bowen had one year where he led the league with .441%. That put him in the 98th place over all seasons by all players. His career average was .393. Nice but not spectacular. And contrary to the myth that he was shooting up 3s all the time. In point of fact, his career average number of attempts was only 2.4 per game and because his average % was acceptable (over 33%) his career average for points from beyond the arc was .9 ppg. Not exactly a huge contribution per game. And he had a lot fewer attempts from inside the arc because he never really developed a taste for faking the three and going in toward the paint.

If you want to talk about Bowen, it's always better to stick to his feats on defense.

Yeah, our 36% three-point shooter that constantly misses wide open shots would be absolutely electric.

Anyways, as for the actual topic, O.J. Mayo is tearing it up. Wow!
