View Full Version : Spurs: Why are the Spurs not on Christmas?

50-16, 20 game winning streak, exciting and selfless team ball, and they're not even featured on the later Christmas games? Seriously? Houston at Chicago without Rose? Would it kill the NBA to have the Spurs face the chink eyed man instead? They're not a big market but they should get some recognition for having the best West record for 2 years straight.

Is this a serious question? Stern just fines them 250k for nothing, he obviously hates the spurs

Too many bible thumpers. Some fan might actually show up with a 'happy Christmas' sign instead of 'happy Holidays' and basically turn off half the ABC audience. At least Rockets have a Taliban so they can claim :cry religious tolerance :cry

IMO, anyways

you guys already posted the lowest rated finals in NBA history with a 5.1 neilson rating...Stern doesn't want to ruin anyone's X-Mas show casing the Spurs we've already had too much tragedy as a nation recently...

That was back when the spurs played defense and scored 90 points/game.

In the last week they've broken the franchise record for three pointers twice :lol There's pretty much no way to argue the spurs aren't an interesting team these days. They're the reincarnated Suns.

Last year's WCF had a pretty good rating as I recall. It might've even been higher than the Lakers' second round exit ratings :lol

Nobody wants to watch the Spurs, which makes Stern even more of a hypocrite for issuing that fine.

On the other hand, the spurs fool's gold regular season ships make them the perfect team for a april 1st game tbh.

That's because the team you pretend to be a fan of couldn't man up and provide some rape quality entertainment.

There should only be one Christmas game a year. The NBA just isnt interesting enough this early in the season to bogart Christmas television. Make it Heat-Lakers or Knicks-Lakers only every xmas and be done with it.

Agreed - I'd say 2 games max. Lakers vs Knicks followed by Lakers vs Heat.

Who gives a fuck about the Spurs. How many Tim Duncan shoes have you seen? They aren't marketable. And when is the last time they WON anything?!!
