Are they still even selling these things? I heard they shit the bed with their launch (trackpads royally suck apparently) and they are pretty much gone now. Strange since they still have been advertising them. Anyone know what's going on with the whole situation? I need to buy a new laptop within the next couple weeks.

you can find them everywhere online, not sure about locally at the main chain stores(best buy, frys, etc)

i havent read much on them yet, but from what i seen- you can cop better hardware at that price point afaik.

Yeah, I will probably just end up buying a Samsung Series 7. Was looking forward to these Vizio's though.

Yeah? What do you own? I want something that is aesthetically pleasing as well. The Samsung Series 7 does that for me. Too many damn plastic laptops out there.

Lenovos are generally very solid.

i bought it about a year ago for roughly $900 and it's performance is still top notch whereas my past laptops crapped out in a year. im sure you could find a better model for that price now.

Thought about taking a look at them. I'll have to see what they have to offer - always thought of them as the brand that is strictly for business use.

Yeah I'm looking to spend up to $1200. I've had my current laptop for about 2.5 years. Just saw the ASUS N56 and that seems to be a pretty solid machine

Get a Lenovo Y580. Got mine for $800 runs practically every game on high (if you're interested in gaming).

Wow I really like that laptop. Would love to game on my laptop, I have a desktop that I use for gaming (haven't in quite some time) but it would be convenient to be able to use my laptop as well. Where did you find it for $800? Seeing it most places for $1000. Thanks for the suggestion. This might be the one

Lenovo had it on sale during black friday week. It's a really awesome laptop i've had for about a month now and it runs everything i've thrown at it, no problem.

You're the man. Glad I made this thread, going to look up some reviews on it but this seems to be the best deal out there. Thanks a lot!

Amazon has it for $869 http://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Y580-15-6-Inch-Laptop-Dawn/dp/B009AEPQDI/ref=sr_1_5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1355790813&sr=1-5&keywords=msi+gx60

edit:
Hmm it's actually slightly different since that only has 6gb of ram and 750gb hdd.

On the lenovo site you get 8gb of ram and 1tb hdd

Yeah definitely going to go for the 8GB RAM/1TB HD setup. Looks like it also comes with a 16GB SSD

I concur. I've owned 2 laptops since 2006 and they've both been ASUS.

Finally get my Y580 Tuesday. If anyone ever buys a Lenovo, I highly recommend avoiding their site to order from. I canceled it today, ordered through Amazon, and it's guaranteed here by Tuesday. Lenovo pushed it back multiple times and would have been here next Monday.
