The Bills are drafting 8th--their Week 17 win over the Jets cost them the #6 pick:lol...that being said, who should they draft at QB--Barkley, Wilson, or somebody else? In reality, we know they'll reach on a CB or S, but one can dream.

Wilson will be lucky if he is picked in the 1st at all. I wouldn't use a top 10 pick on him, but Barkley is the only QB in this draft with a snowball's chance in hell of being worth a top 10 pick.

Chargers will probably get Taylor Lewan with the 11th pick imho....

My ideal Patriots' draft:

1st round - Robert Woods
2nd round - William Gholston
3rd round - Kwame Geathers
4th round - Nico Johnson
5th round - Dan Knuck if you Buckner
6th round - Ray Ray Armstrong

Dan Buckner is a thug. I still can't stop myself from laughing when I see him walking his pitbull around campus with a chain leash.

I would love Woods too.

QB, WR, and LB are our greatest needs.

i don't follow college football close enough to know the players but we need: Safety, D Tackle, D End, QB, Tackle

Bills are reportedly interested in Alex Smith. http://i.minus.com/ivUIFlPm1ODak.gif

I love the Doug Marrone hire, but his first move is already questionable--Hiring his former Syracuse OC Nathaniel Hackett (Paul Hackett's son) to be Buffalo's OC. The guy has virtually no legitimate NFL experience (he's only 33), but his old man was a longtime OC and Nate is a K-Gun disciple...supposedly. At least it's some new blood, so we'll find out pretty quick if he has a future or not. All reports have the Bills taking QB Ryan Nassib in the 2nd Rd as well...I like what I've seen from the kid (above-average arm, improvement in accuracy every season, decent mobility, and above all else--a very quick release). The downside is we're putting all our eggs in the Syracuse basket. The general consensus has Buffalo taking a MLB with their 8th pick--curious as to who that may be though.

Speaking of the MLB position, how much do you think Teo's stock dropped last night?

I think Hightower from last year was a better ILB prospect. Te'o better run better than a 4.8 or I think he falls as much as Maualuga did.

Bills hire Jets DC Mike Pettine as their new DC. Good hire, can't wait for the draft.

Starting to really like the Pettine hire now that I've read more about it. Dude is already familiar with Brady and the AFC East, as well as Rex Ryan's Jets. Early rumors say Pettine could lure some of the following FA's off the Jets: LaRon Landry, Yeremiah Bell, Mike DeVito, Calvin Pace, Eric Smith, and Bart Scott. I would absolutely love a SS/FS combo of Landry/Byrd. We should grab deVito too...one of the more underrated DL in the league. Not crazy about any of the others. I'm curious if he'll run his traditional 3-4, though--since Buffalo's talent better fits the 4-3 right now. Whichever one he chooses, one thing is certain: WE NEED LINEBACKERS.

Laron Landry? Is he still injury prone every year and go for the big hit rather than the sure tackle?

He miraculously made the pro bowl (not like that's hard when you play for the media's favorite team) but from the Jets games I saw he was horrible.

Landry actually had a decent year. He does battle some injuries, but his coverage skills were a lot better than I've seen in seasons past. He still loves the big hit, but he's a better SS than pretty much any other option we have...certainly better than George Wilson. We have the right coaches in place (imo), and if Pettine says no to Landry then we know he's not worth it. Similarly, if Buffalo doesn't draft Nassib then we know Marrone doesn't believe in his NFL capabilities. If those guys do become Bills though--then it's reason to be excited.

Landry was nice next to Sean Taylor but I still remember his coverage skills being bad because he took the big risk on the INT(didn't get many anyways) or go for the big hit.

I guess I was just never a fan of his when he was a skin although I loved the pick coming out of LSU

I'm hearing a lot about "hand size" at the Senior Bowl workouts this season, and never gave it much thought before. It's obviously not a be-all, end-all stat for QB success, but I think it's important for spirals, deep balls, and ball security. EJ Manuel, Florida State: 6'4 3/8" 237, 10 1/8" hands

Landry Jones, Oklahoma: 6'3 5/8" 221, 9" hands

Mike Glennon, North Carolina State: 6'6 3/4" 220, 9 3/8" hands

Ryan Nassib, Syracuse: 6'2" 223, 10" hands

Tyler Wilson, Arkansas: 6'2 1/8" 218, 8 5/8" hands

Zac Dysert, Miami Ohio: 6'2 7/8" 224, 9" hands
Wilson has unusually small hands...I'm curious if that'll affect his draft position much.

The more I look at this QB draft class, the more I think we should go for Mike Glennon. His mobility (at least according to highlight videos) isn't Drew Bledsoe-esque, as his critics have suggested. Dude has a goddamn cannon for an arm too. If he's taken before No. 8 I say we wait until the 2nd Rd to draft a QB.

man....a lot of the reports I saw said Wilson was the guy scouts were most impressed with during the week, but I just don't see it. Arm strength is very questionable, and he kind of slings the ball instead of getting on top of it and driving it (characteristic of a guy with small hands.) His deep ball seems below average, and his passes seem to constantly be on the rise instead of a line drive.

I just can't see taking him with the 8th overall pick. The only guys I would consider are Barkley and Glennon. With Barkley I'd like to see his height/hand at the combine, and Glennon would need to be a trade down.

only one sub 9 on there and it's the one guy who fumbles all the time lol. although arm strength isn't an issue for vick like i think it is for Wilson.

DeadlyDynasty

Vick and Kaep have big time arms, but they both have fumble issues (especially Vick). Buffalo is prone to a lot of bad weather, so a QB with big hands is preferred.

Nassib will be the steal QB of the draft imho

DeadlyDynasty
01-27-2013, 05:03 PM
We'll know Nassib's good if the Bills draft him 8th, or trade back into the first round to get him. If your own coach passes on you then it's pretty damning.

Broncos need D line help, an actual middle linebacker, a safety that can time a jump and catch a fly ball, and some runningback help.
